I looked at that earlier and it wasn't that cheap so thanks for the heads up! I better borrow some money to put in my checking account this morning... If I didn't get screwed over by borders, I canceled my order for the Oshima Eclipse set when amazon went back to $33 and they still shipped me a copy, i'd have a bit more to spend on these amazing deals (really want the Michael Haneke box set)

ARGH! You're making me buy again! I never wanted to pay full price for this set but for $9 for a set that is typically expensive...I can't resist. Is "Happy Days" on sales too...haha...

CG....at least you got some Criterion! Did you go for those Kino box sets too?

Anyway, I hope this is legit. The good news is that Amazon is very good at protecting their consumers, so there should be no worry on that. It's just...wondering if they will be shipped or not. If it was an error, I would assume they would have fixed it by now.

Alright... for another $7.50 I had to get the Bergman set too

For anyone interested, They have the "Friday The 13th" T.V. series (complete) for under $10 It might have been $6, not sure..... but either way, I had never seen the show, but saw it was selling for about $100 by other merchants, so I thought someone would want to scoop it up.

Went with Treasures From American Film Archives - Encore Edition. Kinda always wanted that, but was alway kinda way too much.

BRD Trilogy, by the way, excellent. The Marriage Of Maria Braun is worth the price just by itself. Escpecially at these prices.

Thanks fdm for the BRD praise.

Thanks kndy for everything. I didn't get Kino sadly (Griffith was back up in price), but I just got alot of Criterions I wasn't counting on getting for a while, so that's cool.

Thanks Beta for buying so much, so I don't feel bad.

Now I have to find some money for next week's releases (Stagecoach, etc.) Criterion charges in 2 days I think.

I am getting off due to me getting worked up about this. Hope it is true and hope everyone atleast finds out about this to get something.

Happy with the deals I've gotten, but I'm still pissed about missing out on certain things. Ugh.

Me too, but I am happy with what I got. I could of picked crap for $3-$8, instead I got Criterions.

Peace everyone. Hope we wake up with good news.

After reading the mediocre reviews for the BD, I went ahead and picked up the Criterion DVD of Spartacus. Should I have put that money towards the BD instead? This will be my first time buying the film since VHS and I want the best existing version.

I have the DVD (Criterion version) already, but I bought another (so I have a sealed one ) I actually canceled my pre-order for the Blu-ray today after reading the reviews..... well, actually I read the reviews weeks ago, and said I was buying it anyways, but I changed my mind this morning..... it's just a shame the detail has been scrubbed from the Blu-ray (reportedly)

Definitely get the DVD, but you may want to rent the Blu-ray and compare, just so you can sleep better at night...... I know I'll be renting it to see it for myself.

Well. I have no idea what is going on with this place but we'll see...

I ended up getting

Eclipse Series 16 - Alexander Korda's Private Lives $17.64
Stage and Spectacle - Three Films by Jean Renoir $16.38
Letters from Fontainhas: Three Films by Pedro Costa $27.91
Roberto Rossellini's War Trilogy $12.07
Billy Wilder DVD Collection $5.57
Golden Age of Television $8.82
Vivre Sa Vie $3.88
David Lean DVD Collection Box Set [9 Discs, Import, All Regions] (Oliver Twist /Great Expectations / Blithe Spirit / This Happy Breed /Brief Encounter /Madeleine /The Sound Barrier /Hobson's Choice) (2010) $14.75

Some of the boxsets aren't nearly as cheap as some of the other deals, but good deals nevertheless. I may cancel the Pedro Costa or the Jean Renoir boxset as they just seem a bit expensive compared to everything else. I pulled a CassavetesGodard and got a copy of Vivre Sa Vie to try and sell or perhaps just give as a gift.

I have no idea what that David Lean collection is but it appears to be a leather bound, Korean release of the R2 David Lean Collection. It just happened to appear in a search result for something else...

Thank you so much kndy [or was it BetaMan?] for finding this crazy place. I'm probably going to open the box and find a bunch of VHS tapes or something. Some of these are just way too cheap...

Edit: Nevermind. Too late to cancel anything. Card charged already. Let's hope these go through...

Just placed my order:

Beauty & the Beast (RE) - $4.35
Peeping Tom - $5.60
Hiroshima Mon Amour - $3.83
Francois Truffaut's Adventures of Antoine Doinel - $4.18
Great Adaptations - $5.56

Well, it looks like its mostly winding down now... Got quite a few myself, and hey, if we actually get them, they will actually pay for themselves, lol.

Great Adaptations
Letters From Fontainhas: Three Films By Pedro Costa
The Last Days Of Disco
The Human Condition Trilogy
John Cassavetes: Five Films
Ingmar Bergman: Four Masterworks
Fassbinder's BRD Trilogy
Adventures Of Antoine Doinel Box Set x5 (4 to eBay and 1 for a gift, lol)
Alfred Hitchcock Masterpiece Collection
Heimat: A Chronicle Of Germany
The Michael Haneke Collection
Roberto Rossellini's War Trilogy
The Billy Wilder Collection
The Brady Bunch Complete Series (Mom's gonna love this for her B-Day!!)

in all, over $1450.00 (Amazon prices) for just under $240.00..... not bad at all, now just to cross all of our fingers and pray like hell that its legit!!
