My card's already been charged for my two orders (six titles in all). Don't know if that can still be reversed by the seller or not, but it seems like a pretty good sign. Fingers crossed!

My heart jumped a little when I woke up and saw an email saying my amazon order was shipped, but it was for the Oshima Eclipse I ordered last week before all this madness.

I've had more than one order from Amazon canceled because of "an inadvertant mistake by the seller in his pricing", so I won't hold out much hope for this "sale" unless I see some orders starting to ship.

Well, I have been collecting Blus now for almost 2 years. As far as Criterion went, I appreciated what they did, but with my salary, couldn't justyify spending close to $40 a movie, no matter how great they were, or how beautiful the packaging was!

I believe I only bought 2 of them during my DVD collecting days, and one even came with a free one! I bought The Rock on ebay and the seller threw in The Vanishing (far better movie!) I also owned Armageddon.

Now that I'm older and I have a finer appreciation for films, I have started building my Blu ray collection and added in some Criterion titles. My initial reason was to just collect movies I have seen before, but now I find myself buying based on the short plot synopsis on Criterion's website, as well as the reviews posted here.

So far, I currently own The Third Man, The Man Who Fell to Earth (owned the Anchor Bay version on DVD), and Repulsion (blind buy).

I am currently awaiting: M, Bigger Than Life, Walkabout, and The Wages of Fear.

Of course, these are priced way better than the DVDs were back in the day, and at $24.99, I couldn't resist! I look forward to adding more to my collection.

I plan on purchasing Revanche, Hunger, Ride With the Devil, Videodrome, and the Yojimbo/Sanjuro box. I have also rented and loved Kagemusha and Che.

Any other suggestions??

italy12, get them when they're on sale. june and december are typically when Barnes&Nobles puts out released Criterions at $18-$20 per title. seems to be the best deals all around. be patient and you'll get it =P.

Criterion to your PS3? Well, I guess this explains why the auteurs.com changed to mubi.com. In the US, I suppose their is Netflix for those who can't fathom buying the physical product anymore but for the Europeans...now you have mubi:

Looking at the other titles that people got, I wish I took advantage of Kieslowski set, The Decalogue and the Animated Soviet Propaganda. The only thing I wish I got but waited too long was the Chantal Akerman Eclipse.

Had it in my cart and should of checked out earlier but there were too many things that were on sale and felt the whole experience to surreal. But I suppose we’ll find out soon if its for real or if we get the canceled e-mails.

The only thing that I wonder is…is there software for a seller to reduce prices for a lot of the things on their inventory all at once?

And for those saying these orders will get canceled......

1) yes, that's a very good possibility

2) BUT..... There were reports of this same seller doing this before, and one person even posted that he ordered 40 discs/sets, and they honored them all.... so who knows



I won't be too devastated if they don't honor this (although I'd love it if they do) but I think a lot of the "You guys are wasting your time" mentality stems from jealousy

Did you guys receive a cancellation order for your Amazon orders. Notice a few people on various forums who received one. Never got one yet.
