The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938) would probably win my personal top spot. I love this movie to death, and I cannot believe that the Blu-ray doesn't get more discussion on this site.

Singin' in the Rain is another brilliant Technicolor film.

A few more off the top of my head...

Gone with the Wind
Charade
The African Queen
River of No Return
The Quiet Man
The Wizard of Oz
Leave Her to Heaven
Drums Along the Mohawk
For Whom the Bell Tolls (C'mon, Criterion, jump on this one already!)

The Criterion title, The Four Feathers, is not half bad either. I really ought to get around to upgrading my old DVD.

For that matter, I really ought to get around to watching my still-unwatched Blu-ray of Shane.

Love the film, but Twilight Time is releasing it, so they have it for at least the next three years.

I do enjoy it, but not as much as the previously mentioned films or Trouble in Paradise (which I have on Criterion DVD).
Picking a favorite Lubitsch film is like choose "a first among equals", but my choice would have to be Ninotchka.

Of course, I hold the Blu-ray transfer of Niagara in high esteem as well. That film looks downright gorgeous.
I love both of those (as films, I don't have either on Blu-ray yet), but you would place those above Black Narcissus or The Wizard of Oz?

Interesting. Thanks for listing those movies...a few of which I haven't seen yet (that I plan on reserving next time I'm at the library).

Which means you're in the majority. Have you seen his better movies, like Raising Arizona, Drive Angry, KickAss, Wild at Heart, Leaving Las Vegas, and Adaptation?

It also means that I cannot like you.

I like Wild at Heart, but he ruined it for me, I LOVE adaptation, but he annoyed throughout the film, Meryl Streep made it worth it for me. He was OK in Kickass, but was a poor film in my opinion, didn't like it.

Avoided the rest cause I just can't stand him, even if the film itself is brilliant he ruins it for me - I wanted to LOVE wild, huge Lynch fan, but NC killed it for me
..

But yeah, don't get me started on his other films haha!

Raising Arizona is worth it. It was the first movie I saw him in and didn't like him yet. The ending still makes me cry.

Also, any self respecting film fan has to see Leaving Las Vegas. In my opinion, it's more Elizabeth Shue's story and he is a side character.

PS: You would appreciate Kick Ass more if you saw Kick Ass 2. I don't often forget movies exist, especially things I see in theaters, but that was just so bland and unappealing that I did.

I think that is exactly why people enjoy some of those films...you don't have any favorite "so bad I love them" films?

While he has been in plenty of bad films, he's probably been just as many great ones:

Bad Liuetenant
Raising Arizona
Moonstruck
Leaving Las Vegas
Adaptation
Matchstick Men

to name a few.

I watched Moonstruck last night and didn't care for it, even after watching Knowing (which I despised) an hour before it.
I thought Bad Lieutenant was just okay.
Matchstick Men, however, is something I have to rewatch. I loved it up until the twist last time, and feel that I'd appreciate it more a second time around. Also, when I saw Seven Psychopaths and Way Way Back, I decided that Rockwell is one of my favorite actors as well, and should rewatch it just for him.
