It's listed on the Internet Movie Database and on Wikipedia as "Three Days of the Condor."

I generally follow the grammar guidelines of spelling out single-digit numbers, but using numerals for anything greater than nine. As such, it never occurred to me to look up the Blu-ray on this site by using the actual numeral instead of the spelling.

I always go by what it actually says on the screen, or for books, what it says on the title or copyright pages. (The title of Orwell's book -- and at least the Michael Radford film version -- is "Nineteen Eighty-Four", dammit, not "1984".). I couldn't honestly remember how the title appears on Condor, but I was pretty sure it was "three". The only surprise was that I didn't think to search with "3" when I didn't get any results with "three".

Maybe i should just order The Great Beauty + some random Blu-ray and see how it turns out... hopefully it should arrive without any damage.

None of their stores are closer than about an hour from home, but if I'm near one for other reasons (as I was on Saturday) I make a point of checking out what they have on the shelf in the way of used discs. They're also the place I tend to take DVDs that I want to sell off.

It was funny yesterday, because I had about an hour to kill in the Manchester (NH) area, and was trying to decide whether to stop in at the Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, or Newbury Comics. I decided on NC without knowing about the sale, so I took it as a sign that God wanted me to have those Blu-rays (at least, that's what I told my wife.).
True, NC does great deals on Criterions, good enough to make Amz price match.

Honestly i love these indie stores, feels good to know they're still around... For me Amoeba in LA was and still is an interesting place to discover new/classic stuff.

Does anyone remember Virgin Megastore? that too was a uber cool place... too bad it ended it's busineses in the U.S.

Finally watched LA VIE DE BOHEME, which I got on the Criterion flash sale about a month ago. Fantastic film! It's amazing how Kaurismaki can turn such a classic romantic tragedy into a delightfully dark comic satire with more than a few laugh-out-loud moments! Lovely black and white cinematography, unexpected but effective casting, wonderfully droll performances, all in all great fun and definitely something to revisit soon! A few more bonus features would have been nice, but what there is is good.

RIP Mickey Rooney.

I believe he was the last remaining "main star" from IAMMMMW wasn't he?

I always associate Mickey Rooney with his role in The Twilight Zone episode, "The Last Night of a Jockey", which Rod Serling wrote specifically for him.

And on the subject of Rod Serling and Criterion, Rooney was downright scary in the Playhouse 90 drama "The Comedian", on the "Golden Age of TV" DVD set.

I used to rank movies on Letterboxd, but I found that it was distracting my movie-viewing experience. I would focus more on what to rate it throughout the runtime as opposed to the actual movie itself, so I decided to do away with it for a bit.

That being said, I would probably give the film a moderate 4.5 / 5 stars. I found the film to be very fascinating and well-acted during all three of the eras. The thing that bothered me was some of the writing towards the ending at the party, not to mention the whole garbage truck sequence...lol.

I really applaud Sergio Leone for being a fantastic director. I've seen The Man With No Name Trilogy, Once Upon A Time In The West (which is more than likely in my all-time favorite films list if I had one), and now Once Upon A Time In America. The guy knew what he was doing.

I recorded Duck, You Sucker, the other night on my DVR so I think I'll watch that sometime this week.

I recently purchased season 5. Kind of TZish that I just watched that episode this weekend.

Well, at least you didn't watch the American cut.

It's my favorite of his and one of my favorite films, period. I think it has some of Morricone's best work, too (particularly fond of 'Deborah's Theme'.)

Duck, You Sucker is the only Leone I haven't seen. Should get around to it.

The scores in every one of his films are top notch. I personally don't think anything can come close to TG, TB, TU theme, but it's honestly difficult to say.

By the way, how is "My Name is Nobody"? I've been blind buy cautious lately.
