Yeah I was so confused why the box was so heavy and as I pull out was like.. ummm why so big lol besides they never usually include books or w/e on Blurays just for DVD so hopefully they will do more (Vampyr upgrade etc)...

I see now its mentioned on the page under the section about booklet but didn't realise - really nice addition as I was looking to get an now I don't need to Plus apparently its out of print in USA?

Great release though - love he supplements too

It actually is really easy to get a new account, just use a new email address and CC and when you enter your name for shipping just use a different first name (ie middle name, first initial, nickname etc) I currently have two accounts and both have shipped with no hang ups.

Anyone know the status of these titles being released through Criterion? (I've heard various rumors over the last year that they may becoming)

Working Girl
Tootsie
The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T
Death of a Salesman (1951)
A Matter of Life and Death

Well, there hasn't been much of an opportunity so far. The Man Who Fell from Earth DVD included a copy of the novel, but by the time it came out on Blu-ray, the license for the novel probably expired. And since the title was one of their first Blu-rays, they probably were unsure of sales and didn't want to jack up the price to include the novel. Vampyre, of course, hasn't been upgraded yet.

Then again, apparently you aren't aware that Red River comes with the novel.

Yeah, pretty much every description of it mentioned that it included the novel, so I'm not sure how you guys could've missed it.

Actually, Short Cuts was originally released with the novel it was based on in 2004, but it's OOP now

I'm really happy that I get second novel from Criterion in less than a month, after reading Blazing Guns on the Chisholm Trail by Borden Chase when I bought Red River. I'll have to wait until payday on Friday to pick up Picnic at Hanging Rock, but I'm excited about this package in a big way.

I may be mistaken, but in the US the book was put back into print almost simultaneously with Criterions release of the film. I believe the cover art is new, and Criterion have put their spin on the typeface for their version.

Even though their blu is missing too much from the great Second Sight release to call it definitive, it is a pretty gorgeous package. Thanks for the pics.

Which makes it a bit bizarre as to why the 4-disc Red River set with a book goes for $39.99. You can buy it during the sales for $19.99. That's what I call bang for your buck. Not so much with many of their other similarly priced releases.

Don't complain! its look awesome - I think if people own Criterion they should have a feature wall thats like those old library rooms in manor houses lol floor to ceiling shelves... run out of room, find another wall haha

But I have 3 sections for my Criterions a before to make it look tidy and nice.

(i) Bluray boxsets ordered spine number
(ii) Bluray Plastic cases ordered by spine number
(iii) Dvds ordered by spine number

Actually I have had to add a new section now lol

(iv) Large Boxset (Zatoichi, AK 100) they have their own separate shelf

I don't get why people complain about space, Criterion are so special if all I had was a closest to live in - I would fill it up with Criterions :P it is all I need lol - I do live in a larger property now, but I did the student accommodation and its just 1 room lol and it was filled with films XD

When I attempted to use the coupon on All That Heaven Allows, I was informed:

Quote:
Your order does not yet qualify for coupon K9M4E3D. For coupons that requires a specific payment method, please check the validity after adding your payment method during checkout.
Is that because it's a pre-order? Will I be able to successfully apply the order on Tuesday?

So I watched Blue... Yesterday.

Thinking back I really enjoyed it, I wish it was longer or was a 2 parter as some parts felt a tad rushed and needed exploring further - the characters were ok, a bit annoying at times but so are most people haha. The sex wasn't as bad as people had made out, but I can see why it was an important element to the film.

Hope the transfer is improved for the re release as there was some minor flaws on my copy, to sure if its same for all copies though also can;t wait for more supplements.

But yeah, great blind buy, was cheap as well lol but no was good - Still happy The Great Beauty won Oscar though instead of this.

Is there a chance the new release will be the longer cut?
