Red River has a SRP of $49.95.

It may be now but it sure wasn't originally. Amazon lists it at $39.95, too.

Don't know the status other than the recent Tootsie hints, but if they do the 1951 film version of Death of a Salesman, I hope that they include the 1965 TV movie as a bonus. To me, Lee J. Cobb is the true Willy Loman. When Cobb's Willy Loman falls, it's a tragedy of Greek proportions.

I'm pretty sure Amazon's listing has always been incorrect, they just never fixed it. The list-price on Criterion's website has always been $49.95, and as far as I know no other e-tailer has it at $39.99 list.

Yeah, it was alphabetical for a long time, but I've given up on that approach until I get a shelf big enough to group them all together again.

Whats the film next to war room? I recognise the type design on spine but can't find it anywhere or figure out what it is lol - probably really obvious XD

I see a lot of people buying bookcases which is fine but they have they limits and problems, surprised more people don't have a custom shelving put up made around Criterion dimensions etc? :/

I wanted to leave a short note for Stacey (forum member?). Last week, I did not have internet access for a couple of days and then I fell sick. But I read your question and responded to it. If you have not seen the email, it is probably somewhere in your junk folder

Answer: Yes, I have seen the Italian release of Magnificent Obsession. If you can find it on sale (mine was not expensive), you can pick it up. But the transfer does come from an older master and you should not expect it to look as impressive as Criterion's release. (Actually, I would do my best to review all of the Region-B Sirk releases shortly).

Answer 2: Pathe. Yes. We will review them. A few days after the releases arrive.

Hi Randy,

Yes, I do. If I don't, the light/reflection makes the cover look really bad.

Thanks for the response. I was just curious haha. Any particular reason you choose the floor over a table?

The floor has a neutral color, Randy, and it is easier to get close-ups without some light reflections.

I know the guys here care about the packaging and want to see good photos of the covers as well, so this is pretty much the best that can be done with my not-so-professional camera.

Thanks, Randy, and have a great weekend.

Just thought I'd ask a quick question aimed at anyone on here in Europe (or elsewhere) who has purchased Blu-rays from blowitoutahere on E-bay: If I placed a few individual orders for a few titles via their "buy it now" auction listings will they ship each item individually as ordered or will they try and post any orders placed close enough to each other into one shipment?

I want to order a bunch of titles in their recent criterion sale but I'm worried about them being combined into one shipment and hence falling foul of customs (individual shipments will be well under the customs limit). Obviously I would ask them directly on e-bay but they've disabled all questions on their account!

I found the description of the video a little odd for "All That Heaven Allows". The movie exists in 2.00:1, but they chose to present in 1.75:1 because it was the most common way it was shown. You'd think they would want to preserve all of the the available picture. Well, I'm sure they scanned the whole thing, they just gave us 87.5% of it. Criterion has probably done this a lot then, I just haven't really paid attention.

they ship all their stuff individual if you order it that way. if you order a bunch of movies in one order to save money on the shipping fee they will ship it in one package.

I actually don't have The War Room, but the title you're thinking of is probably Wings of Desire or Weekend.

The shelf on the right was custom made back in 2008, and I thought I'd never fill it up.....
