Same. I can't empathize with the digipack hate in particular, because Ace in the Hole, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Persona, and Breaking the Waves just look so much more important on my shelf.

Ugh. Does this mean there'll be DVD-only releases of titles like City Lights taking up a release slot?

Why? - They will just keep those releases as Dual Format until stock runs low I presume and then just filter it back to normal - The recent BREATHLESS re-release seems so pointless now and such a waste, could have had Eraserhead or something :P

To be honest, all this packaging debate has passed me by somewhat (bar the crap that is on cover of Y Tu Mamá También). I have allsorts on my shelves for it ever to be all neat and tidy. It is what is on the disc(s) that is of upmost importance to me.

I agree, but wih criterion, it's the entire package that's important to me I know I'm probably the most annoying person on here in regards to packaging, but I'm just passionate, I do apologise >.<

Obviously the transfer and contents on disc are extremely important though.

So does this mean that all of the dual-format releases previously released will be re-released as separate BD and DVD releases?

I presume they will sell as they are until they run out of stock and then silently re release as dvd and bluray?

Not sure about releases like Zatoichi though :/ will be weird seeing that small :/ unless they sell in a plastic case :/

I guess we wait and see for that. I am sure if they do people would want to trade-in their Dual Format Editions

Yah but they didn't do that when they re released Breathless - so who knows o.o

Just hope they don't include re releases in announcements and waste space/time - again, like Breathless dual format re release (unless there are changes I'm away of).

Yeah, anything that is already on DF should not take one of the monthly 4-5-6 announcement slots. They should be for:

Normal DVD upgrades
New Releases
Box Sets
Eclipse Sets
