I think they're gonna start using Scanavo's 3-disc cases also, those are a little thicker than the regular ones. I don't know if that means they will skip the digipacks or not though.

Yes of course, but they aren't being replaced/removed which people seems to think?

Especially older releases like Seven Samurai etc

Probably, but they will still have digipak releases for things like Red River, Picnic etc or others that have books or special releases.

Aside from box sets there probably won't be too many 3 disc releases If they are not releasing dual editions.

Although I know it wouldn't happen, I'd love to see Ida in the collection. It's neck and neck with Under the Skin as my favorite of the year.

Was about to ask how you knew where I lived :O but then realised lol

We have an Odeon, which tbh never really shows anything that requires a brain cell to watch lol, Nottingham has a superb indy cinema, but just a bit awkward to get to - I work all week and can only go Sundays as Saturdays I have other stuff to do and the train on Sunday are terrible

Sheffield is also like £17 to get to on train from here its not that bad but that covers the cost of a new Criterion, so would rather get that haha, Lincoln is terrible for film buffs that need to travel lol >.<

thats true. but he covers alot about his women in his book... i always got the feeling he only needs women. like something was missing inside of him that he was searching in someone else, and since he probably was not much of a "friends" person he was looking for that in a women. maybe he even confused sometimes love with what he was actually lacking ...dunno really

I think it makes the most sense limiting future digipacks to special releases like box sets, trilogies or releases with books. Now with the new 3-disc Scanavo plastic cases, digipacks will be less common and more appreciated when they need to be used to accommodate larger, more special releases.

criterion should have probaly introduced dual format with these 3 disc scanavo cases. i think that would have been better. and less people would have complained. (waste of space.. shelf space, damaged digipacks)

Since Criterion handled the transfer of Sisters for the Arrow release, is that a possibility for October?

I was lucky that I had Manchester & Liverpool less than an hour away when I was still at home. Certainly another way to broaden your film knowledge

But then it's likes, what's make a film more special than another? :/ I know the obvious reasons but still :/ oh well at least it will make some releases feel really special and nice :-)
