Grey Gardens / The Beales Of Grey Gardens
La Jetée / Sans Soleil
Jimi Plays Monterey / Shake! Otis At Monterey
Kes / Cathy Come Home
The Killing / Killer's Kiss

Lonesome / The Last Performance / Broadway
Slacker / It's Impossible To Learn To Play By Reading Books
Tiny Furniture / Creative Nonfiction

There are 25 films in the Zatoichi set, 16 (?) in the Frampton set, and about 60 or so in the Brakhage set.

A lot of Criterion's releases include the director's full feature length films and / or short films (see Charlie Chaplin films / Harold Lloyd films, and Wes Anderson films just to name a few), but the above list is only a few others. They aren't all identified easily in the database entry without going into the Review section.

But still, an amazing film, one that I will enjoy again.
Damn, this film sounds really great. Another strain on my already too long list of titles to pick up at the B&N sale.

While we are on the subject of Michael J. Fox movies...TSOMS isn't on blu-ray yet. Criterion could release it! I would really enjoy that movie being released finally.

Thanks! Yeah I wasn't really meaning box sets like Zatoichi or so, just films that are "advertised" as one but happen to have a second (or so) too. Because like you said, they aren't easily identified in the database.

Completely worth the blind buy. Or watch it on Hulu if you have Hulu Plus first.

For what it's worth, it made me cry.

It's a really hard-hitting film that practically forces you to reflect upon your life.

Yeah, my type of comedy is very dry and dead pan. But it's never with malicious intent, believe me on that.

It's rather similar, but I much prefer Persona.

Doesn't bother me.

My only issue is that smileys are creating an entire generation of people who have no training in context, as demonstrated by the fact half of your posts are followed by a series of people either confused by or correcting your throwaway joke.

I wasn't criticizing you at all.

Smileyless posts are good for people. It is like how old people should play tetris to keep their brains from atrophying.

Just saw Videodrome for the first time today. Wow awesome movie! Great Criterion release great PQ and special features. The movie Felt current and not dated at all. Besides the fly this was the first older Cronenberg film I've seen. Can't wait to see the brood and scanners and rabid now.

Yeah, I agree with this post. Being kept on your feet mentally is very helpful. Challenges people to think outside the box.

I watched Amarcord on Hulu Plus last night and I'd forgotten how absurdly funny (and sad) it was. Once again I've got the Niņo Rota score stuck in my head. This always happens when I see one of his Fellini films, it becomes ingrained in the brain! Thanks to this viewing this has gone on the list for the upcoming sale. I only have the ancient Criterion dvd with no extras and it will be my first Fellini on Blu (not that there's much to choose from....hint, HINT!! Criterion). Great film.

You're in for some great films. David Cronenberg is like the Lynch of horror movies.

Careful sonny, old person here! BTW, I prefer the Professor Layton games.

This insightful article was probably posted before but if it wasn't:

Ahem. What do you think about that?
