When I get a job job I'm saving up 1000 dollars and the next criterion sale I'm getting a B&N Card and I'm going to blow every red cent.

Just going to stick my arm in the back of the shelf with a buggie in front of me and I'm going to knock them in!

I requested my local B&N to hold Picnic at Hanging Rock and All That Heaven Allows for me. May pick up something else too, I have a lot in my "second tier" list!

Hey I'm moving to Glendale! Good to know it's a coupon-friendly B&N!

Your opinion is that you don't like what you've heard, which is perfectly valid. Calling then a boy band, though, is not only wrong but makes you look as if you don't know what you are talking about.
It's just how I see them, I don't see them as gods like other people - they are a band and they to me have that boy and feel to them, that's how I see it - even if I am wrong - it's my perception.

I don't mind if you guys love them or appreciate them, they are just not my thing.

This is how I feel when I defend say digipaks, digipaks being the Beatles, I love them but I can't force them on others and others may hate them.

I'm going to be getting obscene with that Criterion section.

That's right. The Monkees could legitimately be called a boy band. But even they were more talented than most boy bands.

In the context of pop/rock music, calling The Beatles "over-rated" is similar to, in the context of classical music, calling Johann Sebastian Bach "over-rated".

What does bug me is when people who have no knowledge on cinema thing they are all mighty and well educated cause they like Psycho lol

I mean most people arnt even aware of controversy between him and Saul Bass - he may not even have filmed or been one who created the famous sequence (which I'll say was well made).

Hitchcock made good films and was talented but I can't connect with his films or enjoy them - not like other directors who can emotionally affect me. If I bought his films I just think if be going against what I believe with cinema and stuff and I just don't want his films for the sake of owning them... :/

In only say overrated because to me everyone bangs on about them and always use same argument which gets boring - no ones really given me any really reason to think differently about them.

This is my opinions and I'm not forcing anyone to listen toe or change what they like - I don't force digipaks on others

I purchased Judex as a blind buy, primarily because I am in the same boat as you. I loved Eyes without a Face as well, and I decided to throw caution to the wind, and just pick it up. Haven't watched it yet, but it is on my short list, I'll probably try to find time this weekend.

Would maybe been cool if they included the original Judex as supplement - don't know much about it?

Not sure what rights are like for it but would have been cool.

When they first announced Judex, I was thrilled, thinking it would be the original Louis Feuillade serial, which is just deliriously wonderful. I wouldn't put it on the level of Fritz Lang's The Spiders or Dr Mabuse, the Gambler films, but it is in the same vein. I believe that Flicker Alley released it on DVD, but I imagine that, given its age, it'd be in the Public Domain by now.

I've never seen the Franju version, and I'll have to rectify that at some point.

Does B&N even have shopping carts?

received the strangest packing job I've ever gotten today courtesy of B&N today, and it wasn't good.
they actually took a massive box--like what you would use for a older dvd player--and it looks like they placed a really thin piece of cardboard on the bottom. Then it appears they just randomly dumped the 10 bds I ordered onto the cardboard, which resulted in a big random pile of bds going in all directions just like you would think would happen if they had dropped them from like 2 feet above the box. Then they shrinkwrapped that whole glob of bds onto the cardboard bottom. And then in the absolute most baffling move, they turned the whole mass upside down and actually glued the top of the shrinkwrapped mass onto the bottom of the box so that the cardboard ends up being the closest thing to the top of the box when you open it.
I mean, WTF????
I can't begin to fathom how they decided this was a good way to package a fairly large order of bds, and I'm actually still wondering if some mistake caused the mass to be flipped over accidentally.
anyone else get an order packaged like this?
(of course the paper releases were heavily dented and damaged; the plastic case copies actually came out ok by some miracle)

Maybe you should just stick to things that you enjoy, like digipacks.

This isn't from the movie. Maybe from a doc in the supplements?

Don't go by what you've heard on TV or the radio. Actually listen to their albums. Please, listen to Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band and then come back here and tell us of you still think they're a "overated boy band".
