Well, the Cronenberg is the only one of the three that Criterion has previously released (albeit only on LD), so that's presumably the one he's referring to.

Except leave out Meek's Cutoff, it was pretty terrible.
I have to say, I was a bit disappointed with Meek's Cutoff too. I'm not normally one to mind an ambiguous ending, but this one just had nothing, and you give it the benefit of the doubt because it's based on a true story, but then I went and read about how that story ended, and it was really exciting and great movie-fodder.

I did enjoy it up until it just fizzled though, so I dunno, maybe I need to revisit it sometime?

Bicycle Thieves has felt to me like one that should have been out a long time ago, given its status.

For what it's worth, Woronov & Bartel (Raoul) were also in another '80's cult cult comedy, Night of the Comet (1984); this was released to Blu last Fall (not on the Criterion label, though).
Bartel wasn't Raoul. He was Paul. He wasn't in Night of the Comet.
Raoul was played by Robert Beltran, who was the one in Night of the Comet.

There's so many potential October titles (horror mainly) that it's just not gonna all happen, sadly. It would be the ULTIMATE horror Criterion month if all the hot titles happened though.

Then again Criterion has been pretty on point this year with pleasing fans.

I want Criterion to release these films:

[Show spoiler]

Also October would be a great month for Silence of the Lambs to come back into the collection. Ohhh or Pans Labyrinth (making a debut in the collection of course).
I might be wrong but the one of the things that might be taking them long with Le Samourai, is i hear that a print of it is almost impossible to find. I know a local theater here wanted to show it in 35 awhile ago but couldnt get one. So maybe its hard to find one or a workable one. I dont know wish it would get upgrade too

Surely looking at the site would have been quicker than posting here.

"50% Off The Criterion Collection Now Through July 28." Big letters. :P

No Renoir fans here? Imagine how incredible a blu-ray release of The River would be, one of the most gorgeous color films. Also, Renoir's A Day in the Country is fantastic and would be a nice upgrade, in addition to Passion of Joan of Arc, Bicycle Thieves, Ikiru, Virgin Spring, and more Fellini in La Strada and La Dolce Vita.

Can you guys give me some good noir/neo-noir criterion titles?
The only one I'm sold on right now is Kiss Me Deadly

The Man Who Knew Too Much is a good Hitchcock thriller and The Night of The Hunter is excellent. Robert Mitchum is amazing and frightening in this, the only film directed by the great Charles Laughton.

My wish list is Le Samourai (obviously)

Polanski's The Tenant (I doubt Criterion will be releasing this anytime soon since Macbeth is being released in September)

Antonioni's The Passanger

Lynch's Mullholand Drive (Same as The Tenant, Lynch's Eraserhead is being released in September, so I doubt we'll be getting this release anytime soon)

Please let this be the announcement that includes "Ikiru".

The wait is getting absurd.

I'd also be thrilled with "Memories of Murder"(that Criterion Closet video gave me some new hope).
