Every month I suggest Jeanne Dielman for upgrade, and this is no different!

1. Jeanne Dielman
2. The Antoine Doinel Cycle. (were it MoC who'd announced it for the UK I'd remove this).
3. Any of the remaining Godard films not yet released on Blu.
4. The Arkadin set.
5. Any Renoir.

4. The Human Condition
5. Le Samourai

Wow, that was harder to narrow down than I thought.
Cheating a little with three box sets.

These would both make me super happy, as both are on my most-wanted upgrade list. I hope you are right!

Oh wow, they're not good. I've got the Criterion releases of both anyway, but it's AE's inability to stick to a release date that irks me most.

The River would be a great upgrade. I only just saw it a week and a bit ago, but it was in 35mm, and the colors just pop. I think it would need a little more cleaning up before a blu-ray release, but hopefully it's on the horizon.

Unfortunately, it doesn't really seem like a popular title. I think this is actually the first time I've seen it brought up around here in a long time.

I've seen it several times in 35mm. The colors do really pop and are incredibly vivid. It's not a favorite film of mine by any means but I felt it was one of those cases that could lead to an outstanding release. I'd prefer Day in the Country, but that is a short film and I'm not sure its rights situation. I also don't know if it'd be it's own blu-ray or included on another Renoir when it is updated.

I would've added Danton, but there is already an excellent French region free release that is very English friendly (it has an English dubbed audio track, something that the Criterion DVD didn't even have).

Most desired upgrades:

Bicycle Thieves
Ikiru
My Own Private Idaho
Le Samourai
Ugetsu

Also any and all Luis Bunuel films even tho many are OOP.

I already own the dvds of The Exterminating Angel, Simon of the Desert, Viridiana, and Diary of Chambermaid, but would be more than happy to upgrade. I would love to finally own The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie as well.

There's been rumors, but nothing concrete.

I think your best bet at this point is the Universal release.

Of in-print titles, I'd say the Doinel set and Stray Dog are at the top of my wish list right now.

I haven't received my movies which was due to arrive today, I really hope they aren't being mangled by the postal service like many of stories in this thread.
