It's cool dude. You can post anything you want. Like you said, I for one can't wait to see if this is true. The set has to be about $150 if it's blu and 7 discs for 7 films (not counting extra discs for extras.). I just hope the Breathless blu doesn't come out the same month, because this set is prob the only thing I'll get that month.

I really hope I'm wrong, but this leads me to believe we won't be seeing Seven Samurai on blu any time soon.

Probably a pretty accurate estimate...... Going based on the fact that Criterion has been releasing their Blu-rays with the same pricing as their DVDs, one would only need to look at what they have out there already.....

Cassavetes five disc set is $100, and Bergman's 4 disc is $80 as is the 4 film "Rebel Samurai" set...... and Great Adaptation sets.

So it would seem that currently when there are 4 or 5 films involved, it works out to about $20 each..... Of course there aren't any sets currently in print that have greater than 5 films (that I know of) sold through Criterion..... so any larger set pricing would be speculation going forward..... (although it's all speculation really )

I would bet on a list price on their website of $139.96 or something odd like that.

I think it'll be September. All the Amazon notice means is they have pre-order page but have received no word from the distributor. The page will be removed if it's not announced next Tuesday. Naturally it would return when announced.

If you place an order for something through Amazon and it hasn't shipped within a month they will send you an email asking if you want to keep the order or cancel it.

Picked up 3 Criterion dvds today at BN.
Had to remind the guy of the B2G1 sale, because it didn't ring up right.

Trying to place an order online, and it doesn't seem to be working either.

Anyone else have any luck on bn.com?

I tried with Criterion & Eclipse and could not get the deal, I think it only applied to certain items.

Not sure what is going on with the sale their website states... That every DVD and BLU-RAY in stores is buy 2 Get 1 Free and says over 25,000 titles online... so I guess maybe some titles are resticted online but in store it applies to all of their stock. (which is odd for the online portion this sale)

Call 1-800-THE-BOOK (843-2665) to speak with someone about problems with the B&N website. I had difficulty ordering something once regarding a coupon and they were extremely helpful.

In my opinion, this is certainly a magnificent film and I can't wait to be able to revisit it in 1080p!

Is this really considered a good deal? Most titles are $36. Even if you B2G1 it's still what, $24 each plus tax? Doesn't sound like a good deal to me unless I'm missing something.
