Thanks to everyone that answer my question from earlier today. I guess Persona it is, I'll get Insomnia in the November sale.

I've had a BR player for about 6 weeks, and got the following Criterion between Amazon and the BN sale:
Amazon: Godzilla Videodrome Naked Lunch BN: Scanners Badlands Days of Heaven Brazil My wife and I are already making a plan for November, which will probably include all Linklater, Repo Man, F for Fake, La Jete and Solaris for starters. The Brood also, if it is out yet. |

As my first post on the forum I'd like to share my B&N sale haul with all of you.
It took three weeks for them to arrive all the way to Finland and they're all in pristine condition, except for a tiny dent in The Great Beauty but it's not distracting so I'm happy for that. ![]() I saved all spring for these babies and now that they're finally here I'm super pumped to watch them. Thankfully it's my day off from work today so you know what I'm doing all day! ![]() I still have the Jacques Demy set on the way but I was too excited so I had to share this with all of you already. ![]() [Show spoiler]

It's always been in a 3-disc keep case as far as I'm aware. Some titles, like Scanners and Picnic at Hanging Rock (especially as it has a book) came in digi-packs (and were released after L'eclisse). Of the last dual releases that are upcoming, they may all be keep cases, but I guess we'll only find out when people get ahold of them!

My understanding is that the 3 disc cases were relatively new? My Nashville, Great Beauty and Persona were all digipaks. My friend recently ordered Great Beauty and Persona from B+N and they were in 3 disc keep cases. |

So from that perspective, there's a greater chance the last of the dual-formats due out next month will be keep cases - but equally the first print runs might have used digi-packs. I guess it depends when Criterion put in the manufacturing orders for/designed the new releases! |

I tend to disagree. It's certainly different but it does have noir aspects. I'm a big noir fan and I'd put it up there with some of the best.

With a possible Watership Down BD including Plague Dogs now that Criterion is experimenting in animation with Fantastic Mr Fox's BD re-issue, how about these which need an American BD since neither had an American DVD:
![]() And here's another early Peter Jackson movie that can be good for Criterion besides Braindead: ![]() |

Hard to believe! Just saw the trailer, but I doubt this would be a Criterion material, seeing their releases. Gandahar is qualified though! By the way, the Fantastic Mr. Fox was more of a release to complete an Anderson collection that I understand they... love, than experimenting with animation releases. But Watership Down could be the one that shows that they have an interest in animation too.. Last edited by filmmusic; 07-23-2014 at 10:43 AM. |
