This would be worthwhile for those who do not own any Kubrick films at the moment, but $139 for a box set that does not even have The Killing, Killer's Kiss, or Paths of Glory is a bit over the top.

Yeah it does bug me there is no real FULL kubrick set (that I am aware of), but I am one of those people that has to own every copy of something released haha >.<

Har har... no... this carpet was installed in this floor of the house in the early 1980s so I'm still digging the retro look of it. It's pretty unusual though for sure.

It'll no doubt be on sale for under $70 by the end of the year. Plus, it has two new docs to go along with the new packaging. If I only owned two Kubrick blurays, I'd put this in my Wishlist!

The grass in the backyard of The Brady Bunch house was actually green carpet. The "grass" would roll up sometimes when the Brady boys were playing football.

(Not Criterion-related, but it darn well should be.)

I'm biding my time. I'll pick up Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb at some point.

I saw A Clockwork Orange when I was in my 20s, and it disturbed me quite a bit. I have no real desire to see that one more than once, although I'm sure that I'd appreciate the film's merits more today.

I've never seen Barry Lyndon, though, and I know that I should.

Not to mention, the Kubrick films have been released in the Kubrick collection, a triple pack, DigiBooks, standard cases, and now this. Very unnecessary.
And yet, Dr. Strangelove by itself is OOP in this country. Very hard to figure, those brothers Warner.

Hmm...I believe Sony owns the rights to Dr. Strangelove.

This year is the 50th anniversary of the film, so maybe we'll see a new version?

You waited too long, my friend. Copies of Dr. Strangelove go for about $40 these days: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Dr-St...-Blu-ray/1106/

And yes, you do need to see Barry Lyndon. I mean, Kubrick got lenses from NASA to film it for Pete's sake! To say its a beautiful looking movie is an understatement.

just revisited the film for the 3rd time this past weekend and the first time with my wife. she liked it.

said it before, but it is my favorite Kubrick film and probably in the bottom half of my top 10 all time favorites.

Right you are. Sony is even more inscrutable. Dr. Strangelove is available region-free from the UK and in a bilingual edition from Canada, but OOP in the U.S. Maybe Criterion will get their hands on it?

It's neck and neck with 2001 as my favorite Kubrick. I haven't seen the film on BluRay yet, so that very well may change as soon as I do so.

Yes, they do. And it's not OOP in this country, either.

That would certainly be cool, especially with the new deal they struck with Sony.

Imagine.

I bought 24 Criterion releases using a combination of the $5/50 coupon, the $8/40 coupon (only on one release - Red River), several 20% coupons, a few 15% coupons and my 10% members discount.

Several of these I already opened and watched!

I am always interested to see other peoples flooring and walls etc
