That's the same piece that was used in Knowing (which I'm a big fan of), right?

I just watched this last night for the first time with my 12 year old daughter. The best part was watching her being floored by the relationship of Harold and Maude. Funny how preconceived notion of love is even established in someone that doesn't even understand boy-girl relationships, yet.

This ranks about as high as any Criterion as I have seen. Ashby's sense of humor really struck a chord with me. I wish I had seen this years ago.

This is the first I'm hearing about Dr. Strangelove being OOP. Dang. Oh well. At least I still have the DVD. It's Kubrick and a popular enough film, I'm sure it'll come back in print somewhere, just hope it's not from Mill Creek. A Criterion would be amazing. Isn't it in that upcoming set from Warner though? Hmm...

I really don't understand this complaint. Books get rereleased with new covers or in collections or box sets all the time and nobody blinks.

A bunch of movies get rereleased and you'd think the Earth was about to plunge into the sun.

I dunno, Following is at least as much fun as something like Ministry of Fear. Neither are what you'd call tightly plotted but they're both pretty cool, atmospheric rides. Sure, the rides don't really go anywhere but that's not always a deal-breaker.

edit: wow, I don't know how I read that as Following. Yeah, Knowing was awful.

It's the first Criterion blu-ray I ever owned ... the blu-ray that kick-started my Criterion addiction ... I mean, collection.

Disclaimer: It's another of those nostalgic films for me. A cultish kind of movie. Loved it then and love it now. Great Cat Stevens soundtrack too.

I just checked a clip on youtube. It sounds close, but that's not it.

The two prominent songs are Sarabande by Handel and Schubert's Piano Trio in E flat. Those are the two full names and artists.

It didn't turn out so good and this commercial only aired for like a week last fall, but this was pretty bada**. Of course, I'm from Chicago, so that's why.

Well, so we don't get too off topic, I'll just say that you should give it another try.

I avoid ANYTHING with Nicholas Cage - He ruined Wild at Heart for me, though the rest of cast and director made up for Mr Cage... I just can't stand the guy as an actor

I think this discussion ha been done on here AGES ago

But no, he's never convinced me - he just make my skin crawl, and for me his acting abilities are terrible... I've tried most his films but I only feel regret each time.

I have a very strong reaction to him :P
