How long does it typically take to get a response from Jon Mulvaney?

Sent him an email on Sunday asking for a possible exchange on my Roundabout disc, as I only own two Sony blu ray players, and just read about the problems with earlier discs.

Secondary question: Any way to tell if you get a corrected version? Does it say on the disc itself? (similar to White?)

Thanks!

1st ?: I don't think he always gets back to people. I'm 0 for 1 with him and I think others have said the same.
EDIT: I'm 1 for 2. I forgot that I asked him about wholesale orders.

2nd ?: the song by Yes?

That is awesome you're such a disciplined and dedicated runner. I wouldn't call myself a serious runner but the most I ever ran in one week was around 20 miles (with several more miles on top of that walking and biking of course). I also have a large build as I'm 6'4" and around 211 lb now, so the weight is being shedded as this summer continues (lost about 12 pounds since Spring). I like to mix it up with track and trail running (and very rarely streets). I might run a 10k before the year is over as I think I can handle that pretty well, seeing that I like to run 5-6 miles on any given night.

I agree with you bwdowiak. I'm finding that meeting people with more common values and philosophies in life is far more effective than common interests. For instance, if I was a serious yoga student, then meeting other serious yoga students would be cool, but that would just be an interest we share. However, if somehow these people see yoga as a "way of life" and also include other healthy practices as opposed to seeing yoga as just simply a "good workout", then there would be common values shared.

Jon Mulvaney is Criterion's George Kaplan.

consider yourself as having done well being that you've got the CC PLF and not the SC release!

I'm very patient which is part of why I have had some good scores. The word "pre-order" is not in my vocabulary. I have enough in my collection at any given time to keep me busy, so although I'm dying to see/own certain films, I can wait. I still don't have Touch of Evil or Double Indemnity. At this point, I'd say I'm content to wait until after Thanksgiving and see what happens then.

Peter Greenaway in general can be an acquired taste (which I was quite happy to acquire). The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover is perhaps one of his more extreme (not really the word I'm looking for) films.

I spent a like amount for a mint CC Third Man and $17.00 for a new TOE just because I wanted them. I too am waiting on DI to dip a little.

I had never e-mailed Criterion before. I just felt compelled to send a detailed list of suggestions to target for the collection and one director whose older films haven't seen definitive releases. I didn't e-mail Jon, nor was expecting a response. I was shocked then that he sent a message and said he had read my comments, appreciated the films I mentioned, and passed them on.

Someone did the same for my e-mail suggesting they release Godzilla 1984. Could very well have been this Jon guy. I was surprised.

Yes he passed my suggestion for a Dogme boxset (I even asked for it to be similar to Zatoichi in scale :P) and also Lars Von Trier's Medea...

He may have said he passed them on to shut me up though lol

One flash sale I ordered the David Lean box set along with a few other titles. Shipment came and my box was destroyed: ripped edges, individual sleeves shredded. Emailed Mulvaney and within an hour had a response from him apologizing and asking for my mailing address. 2 days later I had brand new packaging for the box and each individual film.

Long story short my interaction has been 100% positive

Best place to start would be The Draughtman's Contract or Drowning by numbers, both fantastic films long overdue for an HD release. They're not as viscerally extreme as his later films (though I really liked The Cook... despite its shocking ending).

I find the extras on Criterion Godard disks really interesting, almost more enjoyable than the film itself! Or they really enhance/create my understanding...

Two titles that I would really like to add to my collection as well, along with The Maltese Falcon and Sunset Boulevard.
Film noir is such a great genre.

Same here, he replaced a damaged Sweet Smell of Success case for me, along with a pack of plastic replacement cases because I received two that were cracked. Always very easy to deal with.

The Maltese Falcon and Double Indemnity are both in my all-time top 10 movies list.

Sunset Boulevard and Touch of Evil are both monumental as well, and definitely worth having in any collection.

Thank you. I generally purchase my Criterion's at MovieStop; so I'd have to check the store if they carry those titles. As for Jean Painlevé, he's a famous marine filmmaker who made many ocean documentaries. About that pointer on adding film collection to my profile, when I have the time, I will do that

I have never heard of that movie. I'm guessing it has to do with The Who? When I get the chance, I'll check that film out because I'm open to watching all types of film genre.
