Reportedly, they got the rights to the Tati films through intercession by Tati's estate, who convinced StudioCanal to let Criterion release the set. It's not likely to instigate more releases of StudioCanal-owned titles.

Very interested in seeing these two films. However I'll probably wait a few months till a sale comes along.

As for L'Avventura will buy at some point, along with L' Eclisse Hopefully 2015 will be a bit more sparse, thus I can afford to backtrack and buy these films.
