The search function can certainly be difficult.

What other reviews can we expect to see soon?

Boy oh boy, are you in for a treat.

If you admire Malick and his directing style, you will, without a doubt, enjoy Days of Heaven. It's a great debut film from the great director. 3 Women, as I've stated before, is my personal favorite Robert Altman film. It's nothing like I've ever seen before and will likely ever see again. It's equally beautiful, haunting, psychological, and tragic.

Enjoy the films!

of course, I know that none are the equivalent of The 400 Blows, but they seem like they might be fun.
I actually think that Stolen Kisses does give The 400 Blows a run for its money. Depending on the day of the week it might even be my favourite film.

It's one of the best Criterion releases I've had the pleasure of viewing.

Oh my God I want this now! I typically wait til the B&N sale for all my Criterion purchases, but I may have to splurge on this one early!

Thanks, Adam! I had done some extremely light research on the other films prior to revisiting The 400 Blows. I wasn't too sold on the thought of the sequel films (if they can truly be called that.)

Doing the same research now and coming at it from a different POV - after being wowed by T4B, this little set seems very enticing. Seems like it can be had for a very reasonable price, too.

Just a heads-up that all of the Antoine Doinel films are available on Hulu.

It seems like the route to go if you're unsure about blind buying.

Thanks, Scottie. These seem like pretty light fare and so far what I have read is that the DVD transfers are pretty good. 3 films (not counting T4B,) a short, and nearly a page long listing of bonus features... I'm in on this one! I'll bide my time though and wait for a ridiculous deal. Who knows? In the meantime, maybe they'll announce that it is coming to blu-ray.

I had some issues with Hulu and since my public library is seemingly one step below Criterion's closet, I stuck w/ Netflix. They don't, however, have any of the Doinel films.. or maybe 1.

The box-set is amongst my favourite home video releases. The extra material is extensive, and it acts as pretty much the finest on-disc celebration of Truffaut as there is.

I just picked up World On A Wire from a used movie shop at a great price but I've never seen it before. What is everyone's thoughts and opinions on this release?

It is still in the BB sale, so hopefully the price will re-adjust to 19.99.

It'd back-ordered at Best Buy, so that's probably why Amazon isn't price-matching.

Are the people who are always waiting for Amazon to price match Best Buy all Prime members? I can't think of another reason not to just order it from Best Buy.

Ah! And Best Buy doesn't ship where you live but Amazon does I'm guessing?

I am a Prime member. I would order from Best Buy, but since I already ordered Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down and Y Tu Mama from Amazon, it would put the price from BB as $25 shipped so I'm hoping for the price to readjust at Amazon.

There's a criterion sale thread as well.

I love it. The first 15 minutes are a bit odd and slow moving, but then it picks up and maintains a pretty solid pace. Its broken into two parts, I wouldn't recommend trying to watch the whole thing in one sitting.

I just finished watching Criterion's release of Y tu mamá también and this is one fantastic release from the studio.

I started the night off watching Carlos Cuarón's short, You Owe Me One, a hilarious little short where everyone seems to be doing something behind the other person's back before following it up with my third watch of Y tu mamá también this year.

I wish I could accurately put into words how much I admire this film but I just can't...it's beautiful, tragic, and blends personal and political issues in such a way that nothing seems over the top or redundant.

To make a long story short, this should be in everyone's collection.
