It's honestly not that bad, despite how incredibly morbid it is.

The Virgin Spring was almost my first Bergman film, but nope as of 8 days ago, it's Summer with Monika. I recorded TVS on TCM either last year or earlier this year and started it, but only got 15 or so minutes in because it was late and I was tired, and I never went back to it. I feel like I should've finished it, especially since it's not in my class schedule nor on Blu-ray!

report back on that one, please.
Hmm. It's one of the last films we watch in the semester, but I'll come post my thoughts on everything we watch. It may not be that one though, hence the "or." It could be that other Andersson film.

That was definitely difficult to swallow, but I thought the shock factor would have been a lot worse.

They're supposedly releasing Dont Look Now at some point, just no indication of when yet.

I still haven't seen it, but I hear it's a good companion piece with Under the Skin.

I would love a release of Don't Look Now by any studio at this point. One of the most horrifying films I have ever seen.

Agreed to an extent. The only thing that really bothered me was that it really felt like the children were underage. Its repetitious nature wore out its shock value around the halfway mark.

Pretty much. Not to mention that knowing
[Show spoiler]the feces are made out of chocolate pudding and raspberry marmalade
makes it more tolerable.

Not something I would see again, though.

Sounds like a good idea. I plan on doing the same once I watch it.

I paid $60 for a used but pristine BD of The Man Who Fell To Earth and its one of my favorite films. But how certain is this news that Criterion is bringing it out of print for 2015? If its really true, I'm going to try and sell it on Ebay.

If you click on that Instagram link, you'll see that they've already made mockups or started manufacturing books/cases for future releases.

It's weird that the booklet on that link for The Man who Fell to Earth says Walter Tevis instead of Nicolas Roeg, maybe they are including the novel too?

Yes, that looks like the novel as in the DVD set from Criterion. The other 'booklets' all look quite thick - were the booklets originally with Repo Man, Amarcord like that?

EDIT: I see they are. Well those won't fit in the plastic cases, surely, so another print run of each of those? Or a warning they will go OOP maybe...

After selling my Criterion DVD copy of TMWFTE, I was unhappy to see the book go with it, so I was lucky to go on Amazon and buy this for $6 or 7 brand new. Though it doesn't fit in the blu-ray digipack, its nice to have the same exact book back again.
