I actually have not seen Femme Fatale, but I heard it is quite good and one of his best films.

That reminds me that I still own the DVD.

I love FF and consider it one of his best films too. Shame Warner has not seen fit to put out an HD release of it so far.

Some good pre-codes on TCM tonight/early tomorrow-Trouble in Paradise ( Criterion upgrade), Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde '32, and the notorious, not often shown, The Story of Temple Drake. I do hope that Criterion does more releases from this era.

The Conversation is better than both.

Although I don't think the other films come close to the ending of Blow-Up

What are the chances of Criterion or another studio releasing Wong Kar Wai's My Blueberry Nights?

I made the stupid decision to sell it sometime last week and now the Japan Blu-ray is Out of Print and I am not region free.

Unlikely to be Criterion because that movie generally got lukewarm reviews, and what are the chances of a mediocre film with no cult status getting a new blu-ray release by someone else?

It's a pretty polarizing film. I'm on the side of the ledger.

I don't think reviews are just what gets titles attention from Criterion - there are a number of 'average/mediocre' films in the collection, but these are seen as important (and in a number of cases, rightly so). Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down! is a weaker film from Almodovar, for instance. (All About My Mother, Talk to Her, Bad Education, Volver and others are far better review-wise and - arguably - film-wise.) But it's still an important film. That said, Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down! probably has a lot more cult status than My Blueberry Nights.

Wow!

DVDWORDUSA delivery Macbeth and The Innocents in like 3 days for me! thats the fastest they have delivered something to me

So happy they are here - going to watch both tonight

Bit annoyed they BOTH have those horrible leaflet type booklets rather than actual booklets :/ make it seem like a rushed/cheaper release but oh well! the transfer quality seems great on DVDBEAVER.

I posted about this, The Leopard is being re released as plastic case it seems, same for Babettes feast.

Which is a shame as the digipaks are so nice.

I like the digipacks too but I wouldn't prefer them because:
1) they easily deteriorate
2) they don't match the plastic cases on the shelf

I put my collection in spine order but put the digipaks together, DVD's together and the bluray plastic cases together so its nice and tidy and looks good :P

Plus Ive never really had any problems with my digipaks getting damaged, and they ar so cheap to get replacements if they do get damaged ($5) - Even Zatoichi is $5 to replace which shocked me! I thought they'd have asked for more.

Oh I did buy replacement case for The Man Who Fell to Earth though just to be safe lol
