Oh, hai, CG-

My fav scene is them underhanded throwing the football around laughing. No one throws like that. Very disturbing.
The film screens around here once a month. I'm going to LA next month and definitely want to see it at the theater on Sunset Boulevard

That would seem fun to go to.

Oh, I'm not a tech guy so could someone explain to me what is LPCM audio? It says Breathless and Charade will have it.

LPCM is uncompressed lossless audio. Same quality as DTS-HD Master Audio or Dolby TrueHD, just a different "packaging" (or technically in this case, no packaging).

It can be complicated to explain, but it means it will have lossless audio, or that it will be the exact same track as the original master.

Someone on facebook just said they hinted this for a release this year. I only saw they were going to work on it, but never saw anything about this year. So keep your eyes out. It could happen Nov-Dec if true. There is just too much stuff rumored for this year. Alot of stuff will get pushed.

I'd be ecstatic if Criterion did Persona. IF, the MGM rights mess can be sorted out...

I get rid of my DVD's, once I have upgraded to the Blu-ray counterpart. I see no real reason to keep the DVD, if one is happy with the Blu-ray release.

Even though announcements were awesome, I wonder where that "NEW" newsletter that Criterion said, "We'll be sending a new installment soon, with top ten lists, new release info, and exclusive offers" yesterday is? Hmmmm.....

I would just assume they would release Fanny over some other Bergman titles, since it's one of the newest of his releases (as well as one of his best, IMO) and probably needs the smallest amount of remastering. And I assume Wild Strawberries would follow.

Criterion responded to that facebook post acting like they never said they will release it on blu this year. So looks like Bergman will have to be put on hold until 2011.

Nice. I'm waiting for a B&N sale next month (hopefully) for the releases of this month, though I pre-ordered Red Desert because I want it ASAP.

I hope that newsletter comes no later than tomorrow.

I also keep the DVD editions. You can only get around $10 or usually less on the secondary market so I figure it isn't worth the trouble.

That, plus I'm the type of person that hates getting rid of my movies. Just in case something happens to one, I'll have the other.

I'd completely forgotten I pre-ordered Mystery Train through Deep Discount's sale till I received a notice today that it shipped. So if DD shipped it today that means I'll probably get it in approximately 7-15 days.

I'm hoping for the digipak made with the exact same cardboard, color scheme, booklet etc. While I disliked the cover art when it first came out on DVD, it's really grown on me. Even though it's a single disc release, I will be very happy if they set a new precedent with Breathless. Or maybe with one of the July/August releases although that seems doubtful.
