Beat me to it - I just posted this in the UK thread:

Looks like BIOH are reducing prices on titles - these are down to the £12 region ($19.xx) right now:

Devil's Backbone
Diabolique
Foreign Correspondent
Breathless
Jules & Jim
King of the Hill
The Blob
House
Kuroneko
Tess
Gimme Shelter
Videodrome
Tokyo Story
Antichrist

Postage to the UK is a reasonable $5 and they are customs friendly.

BIOH eBay

I've bought A LOT from them and not had any problems, great company and they do these random sales which is nice :P

Finally got upgrade of Trilogy of Life, paid so much for DVD set so was waiting to upgrade but for £25! Paid more for DVD I think haha, same for Qatsi, got DVD and paid loads but got Blu in sale for roughly same price.

I don't mind paying full whack but with upgrades I'm a little more careful lol

I lost my job so can't got mad with buying sadly, last time I spent like £200 and got loads in sale haha - interview at end of month, I need this job to get my Criterion fix >.<

My haul included

All That Jazz
Vengeance is Mine
Eraserhead
Ali: Fear Eats the Soul
Sundays and Cybele

I already got the remaining titles (since the last BN sale) from Best Buy and TCM when they had their sales and so I am fully caught up (My Darling Clementine doesn't come out until next week).

Wow - sorry to hear that! Good luck with your interview

I asked earlier about Cassavetes - having thought about the replies, I've boiled it down to either Opening Night or Killing of a Chinese Bookie. Which one would be the more typical of his films?

Just the Demy set for me.

I would've ordered The Innocents and probably MacBeth but they're out of stock. No matter - I'll scoop them up during the Barnes and Nobles sale.

I spent all my money on Orioles Playoff Tickets

Are there any Criterion films that feature baseball in them? I've never seen one...

Baseball is discussed by Jack Warden's character in 12 Angry Men. He mentions wanting to wrap up the verdict because New York is playing Cleveland and he has tickets.

That's all I got.

Well, there's Bang the Drum Slowly, which is part of their Golden Age of Television set. Other than that, I Will Buy You by Masaki Kobayashi. Both DVD only.

I returned to my Buster Keaton box set last night, and watched Our Hospitality and Sherlock Jr.
I still cannot stop laughing.
Tonight and tomorrow, I'll watch Three Ages, The Navigator, and Seven Chances to finish the second set, and then go back to watching my scary Halloween movies.

I wonder if we're going to get a new Chaplin Blu-ray on Criterion soon.

I'm pretty sure that NY is playing the Orioles, because he mocks the guy with a condescending one word "Baltimore..." as he passes by him while seated.

baseball is in the following Criterion films that I have seen:

Ikiru - the old man reflects back to sitting in the stands watching his son play (brought tears to my eyes.. and only like 10 minutes into the movie)

Stray Dog - the bad guy is sought after while at a Japanese professional baseball game. great scene!!

Days of Heaven - some of those "heavenly" days were spent.. yep, you guessed it - playing baseball.

Heaven's Gate - there is a scene in this movie, too, although I forget the specific circumstances.

Sherlock Jr. to me is his masterpiece. He just fits in so much in so little.

Steven Soderbergh's Traffic features a baseball game to the tune of Brian Eno's An Ending (Ascent).

I never thought that anybody would succeed at making baseball seem eerie and foreboding, but Soderbergh pulled it off.
