Glad the Godard is finally released, been years since the restoration.

That and upgrading the Ozu for me (even though I have been hoping one of my favorite Ozu films, 'Flavor of Green Tea Over Rice' would get a release soon).

The only movie I saw that much was Wrath of Khan -- I caught the first showing, a friend met me for the 2nd afternoon show at the same theater, a different friend called me with some passes for the late show at a different theater, and I saw it twice more the next day -- paid once and was comped by a Manager for an opinion/review. It was so hard not to give away the secrets seeing it with so many different people who were seeing it for the first time.
That is fantastic. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is one of my favorite films of all time. Definitely more re-watchable than Don't Look Now! But anyway, that's interesting how many times you've seen both of these films.

More Renoir is a plus as far as I'm concerned. I don't know much outside of his two renowned titles. Synopsis alone has me interested.

Very nice month. I'm in for An Autumn Afternoon, Don't Look Now, Watership Down, and Every Man For Himself. I might pick up Fellini Satyricon too.

Just realised...

Could the stuff hinted at on instagram have been hint at the directors NOT the films?

TMWFTE book, Roeg = Don't Look Now, Roeg

Grand Illusion Poster, Renoir = A Day in the Country, Renoir?

What a month. That Godard seems to have come out of nowhere. Tack on Fellini, Roeg, Ozu and Renoir and you've got an unprecedented month of masters.

Wasn't Watership Down on Hulu Plus recently? It seemed to have disappeared.

Surprised Fellini Satyricon isn't getting much mention or excitement lol

It's been a Criterion release rumor ever since the restoration and tour back in like 2010-2011.

Man I agree. I want all that guy's movies on criterion more than anything, especially Cure and Charisma. Wish they got more attention. I'm stuck with these old dvd versions. Even watched Retribution this halloween and I really liked it.

Hey everyone I have a question. I just finished watching two Abbas Kiarostami films, Certified Copy & Close-Up. Certified copy was good, though I could not stand Binoche's neurotic character (her acting was magnificent I just don't do well with neurotic women lol). But Close-up I just found to be nothing special, maybe I am missing something but to me it was a film about a man who clearly is not all there. He seemed like a pathological liar who was completely self-motivated. And as far as the film went, it felt very empty, just viewing the process of those days events and nothing more. I really do not understand how this movie receives such praise, what am I missing because to me that movie was completely empty.

Should we abandon all hope for Midnight Cowboy? It was hinted in the newsletter back in November 2013 I think.

Y tu mamá también took forever to come out, so no, don't give up on it.

I'm in for Fellini, Roeg (love Du Maurier more than Roeg, also Donald Sutherland), and Ozu. Not too sure about Renoir or Godard
