Those coupons are generic and can be used repeatedly.

I also found a coupon online that's good for an additional 15% off today through Sunday:

Hope that helps!

If you were me, would you use this in conjunction with the current sale to buy the Tati box set this weekend, or would you wait another week for a Bigger Better Deal, since next weekend is Black Friday weekend, and there may be an even more impressive B&N coupon?

It'll probably only be a few dollars and not worth the hassle of going out in public on Black Friday weekend. I dunno.
I got a packet of coupons in snail mail yesterday. Only two (the usual 20% off one item) were worth keeping. I already have my eye on the Tati set, so I figure I'll use the other coupon for the Demy set. It'll end up being $45 each. Not bad.

That appears to be a unique single use code. Chances are it's already been used.

So why does the coupon say (and I'm quoting exactly from the one sitting in front of me) "This coupon may be used only once in any Barnes & Noble retail store with a music/DVD department for each new, valid and current Barnes & Noble Membership"?

RIP.

I wonder what Nichols movie would be perfect material, aside from The Graduate, for Criterion.

I would love to see a release of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, but I believe Warner Bros. owns the rights to the film. Maybe their new deal can lead to something...

Really sad news. RIP.

I know this is HBO but I'd sell my soul for an Angels in America CC release. Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and Catch-22 would be great too.

YMMV. Some stores may accept it, others will not.

You can't use the $8 off and 20% off one item together one a single item.

Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf would be my first choice. Carnal Knowledge would go nicely alongside the BBS set, while Catch-22 is very under-rated, IMO. I think they're all Warner Brothers, but who knows?

BTW, Working Girl and The Fortune are both up for pre-order, through Fox and Twilight Time, respectively.

Which is kind of my point. I would assume that if I've used coupon code 122681 already with my membership card, that trying to use it a second time will result in an error that the cashier would have to manually override. Some stores may have a kindly or unknowledgeable cashier who will override the error.

But according to what's printed on the coupon, they aren't supposed to do that. So it's not quite accurate to make a blanket statement that such coupons "are generic and can be used repeatedly".

They are. They do not come up as an error in the system, as the system does not make a check it has been used with the membership. It does work repeatedly without any hitch whatsoever. It's functionally the same as with any time there's a generic 15% off coupon.

Which still begs the question of why the coupons themselves specifically say that they can only be used once with any given membership.

The fact that they can be used any number of times doesn't mean that they are supposed to be used any number of times. An argument can be made that if you use it more than once, you're cheating B&N out of an extra $8.

I'll probably just use the 20% coupon for honesty's sake. Less than $50 for a $124 item ain't bad.

This will be the 3rd copy of this film I'll have on blu-ray and I have absolutely no problem with that.

Good day yesterday, received two more 20% coupons in the mail and even got another 20% via email. Picked up It Happened One Night while out at lunch. Now trying to decide what to pick up next. Even though they won't be 50% off, I may wait until December and use them and my BN member 10% on Time Bandits and The Night Porter. Decisions, decisions.

It seems so soon to mention this, but its worth bearing in mind that it's being released only a week or two before Criterion's February 50% off sale.
