Thanks. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't a recall or anything. It completely freezes for a few minutes. It eventually continued the one time I watched it. I checked the disc over and over and forwarded to that chapter and it does it every time. I've emailed Criterion to see if they can maybe send me a new disc.

No, this is the first I've heard of anyone having problems with "Yojimbo." At worst, you'll have to send in your disc to Criterion and they'll send you a replacement. That's what I had to do with an Eclipse DVD that would freeze in my PS3 but played fine on another blu-ray player and two other DVD players.

Doesn't it, though?

Who knew that basic PhotoShop skills and boredom at work could allow you to get so far in life?

If that were the case, though, I'd probably be living in, or around, New York City these days instead of Rhode Island. Also, I wouldn't have needed to send off for so many replacement discs, covers, and booklets over the years. Sometimes, in my dreams I'm a Criterion representative, but that's about as far as it goes.

So, unfortunately the "CC" in CC Fixx only represents the initials of my first and last name. It's just a random coincidence that it's also the initials for The Criterion Collection. In my youth, I was much more excited that my initials were the same as CC Deville's from Poison.

That's always sometimes an entertaining notion... where did everyone's user name stem from? Some are a bit obvious, though... *cough* ahem, CG.

Like JediFonger... where in the hell does that come from? And are you the same JediFonger that's also part of The Boston Taiwanese Meetup Group? It's amazing what Google turns up these days, isn't it? If so, I've been trying forever to break into the Asian community for the girls.

ccfixx, indeed, there is only ONE JediFonger on the internet. it's UNIQUE (believe it or not). i've yet to meet another JediFonger in the 15+ years i've been using it. i should trademark it or sth.

Jedi is obvious, Fonger is a 'conjugation' (like Latin) of my real life name. it's what my HS friends used to call me affectionately. hence JF was born.

on the other hand ccfixx turns up in a lot of erotic forums... i have no idea why...

Also, being a fellow lover of the controversial, I have been reading reviews of "I am curious" and it being lauded for it's subject matter. I have yet to see it, but found a sweet deal on it and am going to pick it up. Just was curious if it lives up to the hype. I see "film critics" give it bad reviews, which probably means it's awesome.
Dunno, I think all the bruhaha was more about the nudity than anything else (I remember the newspaper ads for Yellow when I was a kid), trying to get them shown in the U.S. in the first place. They're certainly interesting as snapshots of their time, and I recall the supplements doing a fairly good job of providing a context, but I think that although the films and the supplements provide an interesting package, the films by themselves at this point aren't any great shakes (for lack of a better phrase).

No, that's just an amazing coincidence that there's a band with (almost) the same name from Dublin, CA.
I'm from the original Dublin

I just made a generic username because I didn't know I was going to stay on here that long. Dang you all.

I like CG now but if I get it changed to CG, it would sound like I'm a fan of CGI or something, and on a blu-ray forum, that would give the impression that I like that crap.

Haha. That is odd, isn't it? Must be a 'ccfixx' imposter, I'm sure. Or, maybe I'm a porn star and I just like to stay in contact with my fans.

I ordered one about three weeks ago and already received it so I don't think so.

The first post contains the original e-mail that Criterion first started sending out when the replacement cases were available back at the end of 2009. Criterion still offers them, if that's what you're wondering. If you wanna know if they're all currently in stock, then you'd have to contact Criterion.

See, now if Godard was truly the visionary he once was, he would do a CGI movie and use it in ways no one else has thought of. I challenge him!

How about Godard and Michael Bay join forces for a film? Just imagine how much cooler Vivre Sa Vie or Pierrot would have been with explosions and special effects.

When I Google "McCrutchy" it seems everything is me except this. I even got a shout-out for an image of an MoC BD cover on bluray-disc.de!

There can be only one McCrutchy...

I'm a network specialist...most specifically a Novell network, so my username here is the one that I've used for network logins for quite a long time (the first initial of my first name and my last name ).

There were explosions in Pierrot Le Fou, no Michael Bay needed.

Just finished Pierrot Le Fou and I did enjoy it! Although I have a feeling it's more enjoyable after numerous viewings.

Vivre sa vie next!
