Weird this wasn't included in the Les Blank set haha?

I'm excited for Ride The Pink Horse even though the title sounds like some euro softcore Radley Metzger film.

I've thought about them just putting out like 3-4 of a certain director in a month. Why not? Better to get them all out there instead of needlessly spreading them out.

I'm in for everything BUT Ride The Pink Horse, just not something I'd like. Really excited for the documentaries this month, just wish they had more to chew on supplements wise. And that Cries and Whispers cover makes me want to cry.

Hopefully people won't whisper about it and instead make Criterion aware of how bad it is...

Had to do it lol!

100% in for Cries and Whispers and The Soft Skin, even though I think both covers are lazy and boring.
Will most likely pick up the rest of them at some point too, especially interested in The Thin Blue Line.

Because then people would complain even more. There wouldn't be enough room for the possibility of one of their desired titles to be released. There needs to be variety. I actually like having the anticipation of a particular Bergman or Antonioni title each month.

I'm excited for Cries and Whispers, and I'd like to check out Ride the Pink Horse and The Soft Skin (I'll probably watch the latter on Hulu+ to see if I really do want it). I'm not too concerned with the covers, as I'm more interested in the films/bonus features themselves. But, they are kind of boring.

I was hoping for Bergman's The Virgin Spring in March, but I guess we'll just have to wait a little longer for it.

Eehhh…kind of disappointing, especially if you compare it to the last announcement. That being said, more noir and Truffaut is always great! Definitely buying The Soft Skin and Ride the Pink Horse, maybe Gates of Heaven and Hoop Dreams. My problem with the latter ones is that I don't see much replay value in them.

Ride the Pink Horse
- Yet another criterion cover I don't like for some reason or another. It doesn't represent well enough the movie. Besides, it looks too amateurish for me.
- I'm so happy they manage to include a commentary with Silver and Ursini, they certainly know their stuff. We can definitely expect a great and valuable track from them.

That being said, what's up with the increasing trend of diminishing supplements?

Me too. That's been on my Criterion BD watch list forever.

Ride the Pink Horses is the most exciting one for me. That's a sure buy.

The Soft Skin is probably a buy, though we didn't like Jules & Jim much, so I'll wait and see.

Cries and Whispers is tempting because we love Bergman, though it seems pretty upsetting (even for him) so I'm not sure...

And it's rare that I buy a documentary because they just don't have much replay value for me, though I'd be interested to see them all once.

Hard to complain about a month where you get a Bergman and a Truffaut though, right?

Not for every month, just some of the more cherished directors in the collection. And I'd personally not want to continue to wait for certain films from certain directors, you'd think Criterion would want them all out as soon as possible. People will groan, but they'll get over it and on it'll be with the next month.

Check out Grey Gardens!

I find that has so much replay value, the women are incredible and so fascinating, I could watch them for hours (without meaning to sound creepy). They are bizarre and as I said just fascinating to watch.

I'm with you, although I find both Close-Up (docu-fiction) and Koyaanisqatsi (The Qatso Trilogy) to have high replay value.
