Some are saying "The Darjeeling Limited," but the aspect ratio is throwing off that assumption unless it's some type of documentary. I don't think that's it, though, but I'm clueless as to what it could be.

Theres no way that is Darjeeling Ltd,

My guess is Jean Renoir's 'The River'.

During the screening of Satyajit Ray's 'The Music Room', I was handed out the literature for the Film Foundation run by Martin Scorsese.

The list of restored films included 'The Red Shoes', 'Rashomon' & 'The River'.

The other two being released by Criterion for Home Video, leads me to believe this could be it.

Also, IMDB tech specs list The River's aspect to be at 1.37:1, which looks about right.

That is in no way The River, I just watched it about 2 months ago

Its obviously the colorized version of ACE IN THE HOLE :]

Just watched THE FUGITIVE KIND today, sadly Netflix mailed me the MGM dvd and not the new criterion.

Movie really didn't do it for me, ill be passing that one up on the sale

For real. And if it were super limited and went for $200 on the secondary market (of course due to the artificial demand some of the regulars in that sub forum helped create by having 32 feelers across Canada pick up 4 copies each of a title that has 4k total produced to sell on ebay) they would argue its a great film and the artwork on the steel of Travolta's hideous alien mug makes it worth owning.

Those cats are all one step away from being comic book guy on the Simpsons. They would steal a sealed copy of the I Am Legend steel from their own mother to sell to a kid dying of cancer for $400 and be totally cool with it cause its "capitalism".

Plus, I'm too far past the age limit of labeling myself as one thing or another... especially something like "straight edge." Maybe, when I was back in my early teens and thought I was cool, but I'll leave all that back in the '80s with Minor Threat.

Eff that, I'll leave it with Judge and the Wolfpack.

Been away from the thread for a couple of days. Any reason why Charade & Breathless are still not available for pre-order on amazon?

Nice. I find your post offensive, ignorant and childish. I can only speak for myself, but I am a movie lover first. I also happen to have another hobby related to movies, and that is collecting SteelBooks. I have very few that I have purchased primarily for the art work. I only purchase SteelBooks for my private collection, or to provide to other collectors at cost. There are many others just like me on these boards. Please try to be respectful of others.

Can I assume that this is available "in-store" as well?

If so, does anyone have a link for a printable coupon?

Thanks!

I thought I read on the thread dedicated for this in "hot deals" that it excluded Criterions..... Besides.... if their prices are similar to the rest in the sale..... they'll mark them up before the 50% off, negating some of the savings..... for instance, Ken Burns' Nat'l Parks is listed at $102.xx

I think I'll wait for the Barnes and Noble sale still...... although my patience is waning

I'm going to call Borders when they open at 10:00 AM (East Coast) and see if the sale extends to the B & M store and if so, what titles would be included.
