Is Harriet Andersson using more blush these days? Recent photos look drastically different.

Speaking of, looking forward to the Watership down release. I love the cover, and the inside art looks great in the review provided by Pro-B.

Ha. If it makes you feel better, speaking as someone who owns this release I whole-heartedly approve.

there was never a U.S. DVD release to the best of my knowledge. my hunch would be to say that many people in the U.S. haven't seen it.

speaking of CC OOP titles...
I joined the The Third Man party just yesterday. I paid $40 for a disc only in 'like new' condition. I had an extra CC blu-ray case and printed a color scan of the artwork... we've got one of those paper cutters at work. I'm good to go.

watched it already last night! still love it!

That's too bad. I own an old VHS Blockbuster ex-rental of it that fortunately has the original audio w subtitles. It's such a charming film. It's like a Fellini variation of The Sunshine Boys. Masina and Mastroianni are a joy to watch together.

It is also on HD via amazon instant, i saw it there with the original audio i believe.

Unfortunately i didn't really enjoyed it that much, one of the few Fellini films since i loved most of his other films i have seen, will probably blind buy Satyricon in the upcoming flash sale.

Maybe a blu-ray in the future for this title or Au Hazard Balthazar.
I still haven't read the list yet except for the first page and the shocker to me on it was Godfather 2 was like 974th or something. That seems off...way off!

8 1/2
La Dolce Vita

Satyricon is full-throttle over the top Fellini (dreamlike, non-linear) and the best representation of what people are referring to when they describe something as "Fellini-esque". Since you liked 8 1/2 and Roma I think you'd be OK with this one. Enjoy.

I agree, if you enjoy Roma in particular then Satyricon is a safe bet.

I love , La Dolce Vita, and I Vitelloni, but I also have to be in a rather specific mood to revisit them, and I have not felt any overwhelming urge to venture further down the Fellini rabbit hole.

My tastes tend to sway in unexpected directions, though, so there's always the possibility that I'll get the urge at some point. I might give Nights of Cabiria a go if it is upgraded soon.

I still need to watch my Blu-ray of La Dolce Vita. I watched my old DVD copy several times, but the Blu-ray has been sitting in the unwatched stack for a couple of months now. I just have not been in the above-mentioned specific mood lately.

I think your memories might be a little selective. Do a thread search on something like Lou Reed or The Velvet Underground if you want to refresh them

I'm not sure how I feel about Roma. I absolutely loved the Amarcord-ish beginning; but after that it seemed an up-and-down ride, interest-wise, for me. To be fair-I only saw it once; on TCM, and it was late at night, so I definitely need to revisit it. Another reaction I had was that I thought it would be a great companion film for The Great Beauty
[Show spoiler]since they both could be described as coming-of-old age films reflecting past rose-colored memories vs modern disappointment with a city they love.
I wish now I had recorded it so I could watch them back to back.

This is my personal favorite Fellini and is also one of his more accessible films. It's available streaming on Amazon and Ultraviolet... also I now see that there was a Studio Canal R1 DVD release late last year (?!)...

You really should watch this one if you have a chance.

Edit: Looks like the Studio Canal listed on Amazon is a DVD-R. M'kay then.
