This would be the greatest thing to grace mankind. Even over marshmallows.

Didn't even know about that one....

As for tomorrow? Mulholland Dr of course, lol. And maybe a few off the New Year's cartoon.

Just watched Korosawas High and Low and would love to see an upgrade to The Bad Sleep Well. That would make a good double feature.

I'd love love love another BIG set like Zatoichi, Essential Arthouse 50 years... and AK: 100.

Would be epic.

Imagine if they rereleased the AK: 100 set as a bluray upgrade + all new special features...

I still have hopes they will release a director approved edition of Kubricks Napoleon....

I was just thinking that we should be seeing some more Kurosawa soon. Hopefully some of his non-samurai stuff.

More Kurosawa upgrades would have to be non-samurai. There aren't any more samurai films in Kurosawa's oeuvre to upgrade (other than Ran, which they don't have the rights to anymore).

Now that is good news. Hopefully they have something in the works.

How would that even be possible? My understanding is that this was his big unfinished project that never even got to the filming stage.

I agree a massive Kurosawa Blu-ray upgrade of some sort would be welcome, but I don't know if I want to have to re-purchase existing titles.

I think he meant to say "Abel Gance's" Napoleon.

When they release the last of the Kurosawa blus they should release a blu set similar to AK100, and have it so you can buy the full set or the set with just the final release with empty spaces for all the previous releases.

Off topic (oh no!)

Just watched Oculus and it was really surprising - it had some obvious flaws but it was actually really good haha. I was expecting to hate it. Also watched Wolf of Wall Street finally, and didn't particularly care for it - was really over hyped lol.

Please give some non-Kurosawa Japanese directors a chance, Criterion.

Even better, release something from South Korea. You have a grand total of TWO FILMS from that country in your catalog.

Best yet, upgrade Onibaba to Blu-ray.

Fingers crossed for The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Barton Fink, and Tom Waits' Big Time.
