I believe you're thinking of Forbidden Planet on Warner Bros. However Fantastic Planet does have a nice BD available on Masters of Cinema.

I think a Robert Drew collection would be a great fit for Criterion. Both Primary and Crisis have been added to the Library of Congress National Film Registry and his work would fit nicely alongside that of Errol Morris and the Maysles brothers. An announcement today would not surprise me. Of course, no announcement would not suprise me, either.

It most likely means there'll be a fancy Blu-ray release (possibly by Criterion, even) in a rush to capitalize on it, so I'm all for it.

I'm fine with what they will probably do: use the commandments concept to tell their own 10 stories. If they decide to remake the films themselves, I think there would be more problems.

Not to be 'that guy' or anything but 'a remake might get us a BD release of the original' is right up there with 'hey, BFI Arrow just released Rififi in the UK, we should be getting it here any day now'.
