One of my deep dark Criterion fantasies is that they will release the video anthology of all of M83's music videos.

okay, since you put out yours...

my "fantasty" (and that is a good word cause I don't think it would ever happen) would be Nirvana's Unplugged loaded with some worthy supplements.

Such a fantastic live album!

If we're talking fantasy entries for potential Criterion music releases, then I'd like to see...

Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars: The Motion Picture
This 1973 concert film is directed by D.A. Pennebaker, who is already on the Criterion map for Monterey Pop and The War Room. It's also worth the price of admission for the awesome performance of "Space Oddity."

Depeche Mode: 101
This 1989 film is, likewise, directed by D.A. Pennebaker. The footage of the handpicked fans on their bus trip following the tour was the inspiration for MTV's The Real World, which, for better or worse, is pretty much responsible for reality television across the board.

I'm currently watching A Matter of Life and Death. Has this been mentioned or hinted at as a future release? It and The 49th Parallel are high on my wish list of hoped-for future announcements.

I'd like to see Criterion release a Foo Fighters anthology. They had tons of great videos!
Also, I think the Beasties concert film Awesome, I Fu*kin' Shot that would make for a great release! The multiple camera angles, extra concert footage, etc. would make for some great bonus material. Also, a bonus CD would be awesome!

Who has forsaken the Criterion Sale gods? What have we done to deserve such torment?

I believe all former flash sales started at noon est, with the exception of one that started at 2pm.

I know it will never happen because the documentary wasn't popular enough, but I'd love to see 'Athens, GA: Inside Out', if just for R.E.M.'s cover of the Everly Brothers' 'Dream'.

It's a line from Shakespeare's Hamlet, and, yes, it is the line that inspired the title of Leave Her to Heaven.

If you do not have the outstanding Twilight Time Blu-ray of that film, then you'd better hurry up!

I've got it! ..and I love it, too. I just did the Directors quiz yesterday and when 'Laura, Man With The Golden Arm, and (forgot the third)' came up, I kept typing in Stahl. Shame on me for not immediately knowing that Laura was Otto Preminger. but I was making the mental association w/ Gene Tierney and was trying to think of the director's name for LH2H... it is John Stahl. I wouldn't have been right, anyway, because I was typing Richard Stahl and then I tried Ronald Stahl.
