I am not 100% sure from the last wexner talk that it was implied it is coming, they did imply there was another Kieślowski in the works, so i would expect to at least come out after this other unknown title is released.

My Ride the Pink Horse has shipped from Criterion. I decided to add it to my Criterion sale order because I had a $50 certificate and needed a minimum of six titles to get free shipping. I had five half-off titles in my cart that I really wanted and nothing else left that was urgent enough that it could not wait for a B&N sale. I decided to get Ride the Pink Horse on pre-order instead of adding The Soft Skin. I'll get The Soft Skin at B&N in July.

I think my immediate need for film noir over French New Wave has made a Truffaut fan happy somewhere.

Oddly, Criterion shipped my five 50% off sale titles yesterday and held Ride the Pink Horse for shipping today by itself.

Here's hoping they might upgrade The Hit, one of my favourite gangster films, with an amazing cast.

I think I'm going to dust off Drunken Angel and In a Lonely Place for this month's predictions.

Oh, and Gilda would be a nice surprise too.

What else...if Jellyfish Eyes really is on their calendar (and I kind of hope it is, my curiosity has definitely been piqued) I hope they announce it in time for a July release.

Also any clue when we'll get an announcement on June releases?
Let me reiterate oildude's hearty welcome ... and add that I know you're going to enjoy the Criterion release of Blow Out. It's truly an outstanding transfer, and was one of my first Criterion purchases, too. Enjoy!

Fark, I didn't think that was eligible and didn't even look for it.

I would have gladly ordered that and let Tootsie wait until July.

Oh, well...

It was a pre-order and not eligible. I used it as my sixth film since I had a $50 certificate and it brought the order total to $81.81 (or $13.63 per title). I liked that number and replaced The Soft Skin in my cart with something I wanted right now, even if it was not half-off. It made me feel like I was a fedora adorned leading man succumbing to a femme fatale.

Not even gonna bother mentioning which "new to the Collection" titles I'd like to see, since they never are announced.

Instead, upgrade talk:

My most-wanted is Onibaba, especially since MoC has a Region B locked release.

I'm renting The Thief of Bagdad on Criterion DVD soon and even though I haven't seen it yet, the magnificent three-strip Technicolor is just begging to be seen in high definition.

I've noticed The Tales of Hoffman recently received a restoration in the U.K. so hopefully that means it'll be arriving stateside soon, as that would be an easy blind buy for me.

Depends on whether the rights to those were secured at the same time as the series. On DVD, Facets had the rights to the series, while Kino had the rights to the two features.

If Two Days One Night and New World get announced its going to be a pretty awesome month! Of course I would take Moonrise Kingdom in there as well.

Yeah, that makes sense now. After I posted I thought 'you know, I must have seen a million 'look what I just ordered' posts and that should have been in half of them'.

As ever:

A Matter of Life and Death (last Powell/Pressburger was June 2013, so would fit)
Blue is the Warmest Color
Mulholland Drive
Bicycle Thieves
Inside Llewyn Davis
And God Created Woman
(no reason, just an oddball choice)

I hope we get Blue soon, waited so long, I'm glad I bought the release though, I paid like £6 so no real loss and I'd have been waiting ages to see otherwise.

Is there a longer cut of Blue is the Warmest Colour?

I've read somewhere the director said there are still 40 minutes left for his final cut.

I wonder if the delay of the release is because of that, or if they are waiting a bit to make the interviews with the main actresses, since I've heard there was some controversy and they were a bit upset with the director, maybe they just don't want to talk about it.

Oooh I hope that gets added, the film felt rushed to me, that's my main fault so hopefully a long cut will remedy that :-)

It's criminal that there's so much Bogart that hasn't been released yet. I'm still waiting on 'The Big Sleep', 'Key Largo', 'To Have and Have Not', 'High Sierra', 'We're No Angels', and 'Dark Passage' as well, and I'm sure I'm missing one or two.

On another note, I came across a used copy of one of the few Scorsese films I haven't seen: 'The Last Temptation of Christ'. I know very little of the film, other than it pissed off a bunch of Christians when it was released. I was curious what everyone in here thought of it, and whether or not it's worth a blind buy. Thanks for any input.

Anyone knows if the film Listen up Philip is a possibility? i watched it on Amazon prime and thought it was great but then looked for a release and it seems there is no planed release anywhere (there is one here supposed for March 10 from Tribeca Film, but i don't think that actually exist).

It's definitely one of my highlights of 2014, although i wouldn't recommend if you don't like movies with an unlikable main character, like Young Adult or others like that.
