I think it's absolutely fabulous. It's by far my favorite of Roeg's films.

I mean Monroe & Einstein in a hotel room for 1 hr 40 min? That seems absolutely dreadful.
The entire movie isn't just Monroe & Einstein in a hotel room. That's just one sequence. But I have to say that that sequence is actually a delight, and completely not what one might expect simply from the idea of those two characters together in a hotel room. Marilyn explaining her understanding of Albert's Theory of Relativity rocks, because she gives a pretty good layman's explanation, and it completely subverts the image of her as a ditzy blonde.

I own the Fox blu-ray of Tree of Life. I expect a director's cut for a Criterion release. Malick must have delivered the goods to make this worthwhile for CC.

I'm not sure if it will have the long cut. (if it's this)
I think this is an urban legend.

Can anyone explain to me how we came to the conclusion of Tree of Life?
I see the Life in a breakfast. Where is the tree?

Someone get a new thread going. If Mulholland Drive has one there's no reason Tree of Life cannot have one.

This is pretty obvious to me.

It's a hint for an upcoming stand-alone Blu-ray of A Safe Place.

"A Safe Place? That looks like an awful movie."
"Yeah, I heard that it's the worst Criterion title ever."
"A Safe Place is so stupid."
"I'm not going to watch A Safe Place. No way!"
"I've got an idea... Let's give it to Mikey."
"Yeah!"
"Haha. Yeah, let's give it to Mikey."
"Wait...look..."
"He likes it. Mikey likes it! Hey Mikey!"
"Mikey likes it!"

The other day I was looking for something to buy so that I can reach the free shipping threshold. I considered picking up TTOL for $7.99. Glad I didn't. For all the critique I levied at the film prior to giving it a second look, it is, undoubtedly, an essential film of this new century and I'd look forward to owning a CC release.

Seems pretty legit to me, unless someone has another possible title that relates to that drawing?

I saw The Tree of Life at a local theater, and I was blown away. This was actually the first Blu-ray that I ever owned, because I bought the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack months before I bought my first Blu-ray player.

I'll gladly part with the sentimental value of that first Blu-ray if Criterion releases the movie, though.

The fox release was one of my most expensive non Criterion blu-rays, i remember i blind bought it at $24.99 plus tax, but i just had to have it since it never came to a theater near me and the expectation was killing me, gladly it was worth it, so i don't have a problem double dipping for this one.
