Hopefully, we can redirect everyone to put their B&N sale lists to the "B&N 50% off" thread in the Deals section. That's a good place for people to boast about their purchases.

Do you know if and when Seven Samurai will hit blu?

I placed my B&N order last night and I jut got confirmation that all of my orders are ready to ship!!

I got the Leopard, Mystery Train, Revanche, and the Sanjuro/Yojimbo boxset for $97.42 total shipped!

I hate how the Leopard is in a bigger box.

Just a question, but does the Sanjuro/Yojimbo boxset feature one new number? How am I supposed to display my set when it doesn't fit in chronologically?

If I order Bottle Rocket do you know if it will come in the clear case or will I have to order a replacement from Criterion.

I ordered some Criterions the other night and they came in these flimsy digipacks...does anyone know if Criterion has plans to make them available in the clear cases newer titles ship in?

Oh! And I looked everywhere in this thread but I couldn't find any information on how to order replacement cases.

And the cow jumped over the moon.

It appears as if you've just reposted some of your earlier posts, Volume11.

is Rosellini Trilogy really good? i've been reading a lot of wiki/reviews/etc. and i can't decide. is it almost like a documentary of postwar Italia and that's pretty much it? doesn't seem that appealing. reason why i'm interested is cause people in this thread have commented it might never make it to BD due to how screwed up the prints are. thus, SD DVDs are the best they'll look.

Yes, it really is that good. Now, get it. It's not like a documentary.

Because...

A) both the words 'Benjamin' and 'Buttons' begin with the letter 'B' just like the word blue

b) and the whole letter 'B' association is also the only reason that the film was even released on blu-ray... At least, that's what i read on imdb.

It's currently 11:28 EST, which is my local time, and I have yet to decide...... Updates coming at 11:34 EST

My copy of "Red Balloon" has a scratch on it, and gets pixelation and freezes for about 2 seconds...... I have never tried to use a "disc doctor" thing before....... for the price, I'm thinking about just re-buying it, and donating the other one to my library....... The update on that decision will come at 11:48 EST

EDIT:

Must edit faster than that...... you don't want people to know you can't format

You can purchase it for $3 at Wal-Mart, give it to your library and get yourself another one or the version with "White Mane".

Btw, BM...I started organizing my cinema shrine a new way after you posted photos of you organized yours. Hehe....I'm giving it a try to see how I like it for now....

I stopped by my local Best Buy this morning. They had Red Shoes and Black Narcissus, but they were both $34.99. I guess they decided to raise their price on Criterion titles from $29.99.

Barnes and Noble starts their 50% off sale, and you went to a Best Buy in hopes of finding $30 Criterions???????

Just a question, but do you know if Criterion has plans to release the Darjeeling Limited on Blu Ray?

Just posting what I found. I was really just browsing their new release cart.
$34.99 could be their new price for Criterions (B&N sale won't last forever).

Also thought some people might be interested since they had The Red Shoes out early.

Hmmm? Not sure if you're still joking, but no they do not. None of July's releases are in a digipak.

Its very good and my cheapness finally plunked down the money to get it. I rented it first and am a big fan of WW2 information and stories. The scenery in ravaged Germany and Italy is just jaw-dropping. It did not feel at all like a documentary and I do not think CC classifies it as one either. If you're on the fence, rent one of the discs if you have netflix. If you like it, simply buy it. You will not be disappointed if you are into the war genre.
