That's probably a Twilight Time release.

Isn't this already out on blu ray through Sony? I own it.

I don't think I've ever been so anxious for the announcements until today.

Yes. I own the existing Blu-ray of Jason and the Argonauts, and it's all good.

Sort of along these lines, though...

I wouldn't mind if Criterion upgraded The Thief of Bagdad (1940).

Same here I don't know if because it is for July and it will be hot and will only get hotter (sounds like an old HBO advertisement)

Well, that anonymous blogger does have a point. His problem, however, is his intractability. Telling people that they're better off with DVDs (or even LDs) when there are more criteria for deciding whether to go with one or the other than a more modern sense of color timing is...odd. I mean, I see his point, and agree with it to some degree, but jeez mon, it's not just about seeing a film exactly as the audiences saw it way back when.

My favorite part was his "I’ve compiled a list below of ‘enhanced’ discs where the colors or grain have been ‘re-educated’ for Blu-ray, the list also includes a recommended disc that represents the best choice to see the film as it really was." And then he procedes to list "Nikita" with a question mark in the problem description, and another question mark in the "better choice" description. What, he knows there's a problem with it, but not what the problem is? Not to mention..."Nikita"? Is he referring to La Femme Nikita or Little Nikita or the more recent TV series?

Twilight Time already has the license for Bananas (as well as another seven WA films, not including the ones they've already released or announced).

Two recent Criterion Instagram photos

Many assume that the Clouds of Sils Maria will be released in the future and here is a photo of Olivier Assayas. Hmm...

This is the tricky one, though, which has the caption "The easiest getaway plan in the history of heist movies?"

Play It Again, Sam would be a nice loophole.

I only saw it once but I think Un Flic is still owned by Studio Canal not that it means anything. I think S/C could benefit from any Criterion licensing they can get IMO.

It has me stumped. I want to know. Heist movies are my fav!

Several people are speculating The Killers, although doesn't The Asphalt Jungle have a rather short getaway?

Criterion tweeted a link to an article on The Other Side Of The Wind just yesterday. Probably nothing, but I'd love to see a company like them get hold of it.
