FWIW, I just watched the fight sequence(s) from the Set-Up twice over and there doesn't appear to be any shots resembling the photo from yesterday (the eventual knock-out falls on his back, not on his stomach). I don't think it's Rocco, but I feel confident in saying it's not Set-Up either.

We need to recruit someone to datamine Criterion's site and alert us to every single update so the suspense can go away.

My suggestion a couple of pages back was completely ignored, but I still think this scene still from The Killers looks like the scene depicted in the post showing the boxer.

well the Criterion dvd has both versions of The Killers--which have both been released in the UK by Arrow--so I would think a double bd would definitely be a possibility.
and a very welcome one at that.

Sure looks like it, and I imported the Arrow UK disc.

Btw, a still from the film was used for this book on Film Noir:

Those two UK releases are going to be hard to top, and I love em, but the one big thing CC could do is put the Tarkovsky short in there.

Since Arrow released them separately, I wonder if Criterion does the same (even though the DVD was a double feature)?

I don't know if they'd make more money one way or another, but I'd assume they'd go with whichever option did that for them.

If they're included in one release like they were before, I think the only downside for us is that the artwork suffers. Arrow's releases have the great original posters on the reverse art that make them really perfect in that regard imo.

While we wait, we mind as well guess what the teaser Criterion published to Facebook could be.

I'm going to say The Cranes are Flying or a Japanese film, such as Lady Snowblood.

I can definitely see that, in fact that was one of my earlier guesses.

Hmm...good observation. I was thinking more of an outdoorsy cover, but I can see the fingerprints now.

We were both wrong; it's The Killers.

yeah, looks like a fingerprint and since Naomi Watts fingers herself on print it undoubtably has to be Mulholland Drive
