Default Howards End?

This is kind of a bummer, don't get me wrong Howards End is nice but that's about it. But then again how come i'm not surprised by that vote? How on Earth can you possibly vote for that movie on Blu-ray over Picnic at Hanging Rock or Kwaidan is simply beyond me. Maybe Howards end was the the only Movie most of the voters knew? Don't mess with l'avventura.

I am done watching now. I also spent more than an hour going between my Optimum disc and this Criterion presentation -- big difference. The Criterion Blu-ray transfer has been personally supervised and approved by Mr. Resnais. He has even insisted that Criterion include the original unrestored audio track, in addition to the newly restored one, and the US distributors have obliged. Impressive work.

Of course, the most important question remains: What would it take to bring Mr. Antonioni's L'eclisse, L'avventura and La notte to Blu-ray?

Will stay late (after midnight) to finish the review.

I want all of the Antonioni's mentioned films on Blu also from Criterion. I think Monica Vitti is the definition of classic timeless beauty.

Last Year at Marienbad showed up in my Gold Box, so I pulled the trigger. It's a total blind buy, so I hope I like it. It seems like something I would like. We'll see.

Wow... that Region 2 PAL release looks great!

Either way, the Blu-ray screen caps got me excited all over again!

I think it's Eric the Midget, a frequent caller on Howard Stern's radio show who is "famous" for his "winning personality".

Anybody buying "Last Holiday" next week? It's an Essential Art House title, so that means Standard DVD . After reading the current article here I'm pretty tempted.

Usually the 15th. Though we can hope for today!

Hopefully Howards End isn't one of the announced titles (since we already know it's coming just not when)

I am still crossing fingers for the time when each months title that is announced for DVD is also announced for Blu ray.

Or at least more BLU releases per month.

Yeah, Criterion's announcements are always generally toward the middle of the month... 15th or 16th. Unfortunately, our minds can only wonder right now as to what September's releases will be. However, at least, the general public will be receiving Criterion's release of "The Seventh Seal" next week.

And that we see Antonioni's trilogy -- perhaps L'avventura's newly restored cut from Cannes, though I would love to see L'eclisse.

And more from 2 to 3 titles per month.
