I'm terrible at riddles... but there's new drawings posted on Criterion's Facebook page. Some people are saying it's Wes Anderson related, but since I don't care for his films I wouldn't know.

Royal Tennenbaums... Didn't Wilson's character write westerns?

Dime = Ten Plus, didn't the dog die in the fire drill? (Was sleeping?)

I doubt they waste their time with Wes Anderson clues. I'm guessing new titles. Now get to work you all.

I did happen to spot the BD of Bottle Rocket at a local Barnes location in the clear plastic replacement case. I would assume as they do more pressings they will just be shipped in the new replacement style cases for those titles. Although that mean The Third Man case will be hard to come by. (For those who purchase from other sellers like ebay etc)

On Twitter regarding Above Image Clues... someone was thinking Straw Dogs, which could make sense since they have recently been able to license MGM titles like The Fugitive Kind and up and coming releases that have been hinted at like Night of the Hunter.

Well since Criterion is putting more facebook crap on their main website (facebook links on all of the movie pages), why not just turn Criterion into something that attracts film school going, indie music listening, Michael Cera looking, Ellen Page loving, Anime wacker, douchebag that thinks Wes Anderson is the best director ever and Seven Samurai the best movie.

Why not re-release Wes Anderson movies every month in different packaging? Forget new movies that hasn't been released before. Criterion doesn't like silents? That's cool, you have to read those anyways. I rather watch Bill Murray ruin his career, since everyone thinks his Wes Anderson roles are "serious" roles. What About Bob? is more serious than that stuff.

Bill Murray. Come back please.

Royal Tenenbaums! I think!

Owen Wilson did write westerns (as doctorsteve said) AND the dog in the movie dies at the end when Owen's character crashes into the sidewalk.

No. Straw Dogs is a Walt Disney title. Same as the three films by Alfred Hitchcock. Disney has no interest in old catalog titles so have passed them from one distributor to another. Anchor Bay, Image, Criterion and MGM have all handled the films at one time or another. Criterion wouldn't be able to get any of these films back until Disney's distribution deal with MGM expires. Since most of the ABC/Selznick library is still in print, it doesn't look like that's happening in the near future.

wait a minute.
I'm confused.
the Hichcock films--if you're talking about the OOP ones--are mgm distributed by Fox at present.
if there is a god then some day some how those 3 MUST make it to bd.
the number of current mgm titles that would make great Criterion bds is endless.
I REALLY hope Criterion tries to get as many mgm titles as possible to release on bd in the next several years because almost every single dvd is crap.
"you're our only hope Obi-Wan Ke........er Criterion I mean"
