Just be glad that there's only one left for them to release until he makes a new film.

I haven't seen it but probably I'll buy just My Beautiful Launderette from this batch.

Wow! A very strong month! The Black Stallion was released last year from MGM? Da fuq? Yeah, this is a new restoration, but still....it's weird.

Great month!

With all due respect, and I have nothing personal against him, but enough with the Wes Anderson films. He is not good enough of a director to have every single one of his films in the collection while many much more talented filmmakers have zero films in the collection.

A bit disappointing for me I have to admit.

Moonrise Kingdom is one of my least favorite Wes Anderson films.

I'm not familiar with any of the others, but Hiroshima Mon Amour is a bonafide classic and that is for sure going to be the one film I buy for the July announcements.

Wow! Another fantastic month. Count me in right away for Hiroshima, mon amour, The Killers and My Beautiful Laundrette. The others I will get when I am able to. The good thing about July is the B&N Sale. So I may be able to get all during the month.

So I guess you missed all the talk about the drawing?
Or you mean you didn't expect it now?
because we knew it was coming.

Totally agree. Criterion have released some great films this year, but not one's I'm rushing out to buy. However Arrow Video seem to be prying open my wallet so far this year.

Moonrise Kingdom is a "restored 2K digital transfer".

Yeah, those films from 2012 are in dire need of restoration. Glad to see their getting around to it finally.

It's believed that Wes Anderson has it in his contract that all his films are able to be released by Criterion. And I'm sure they're very good sellers for Criterion, so why wouldn't they release them?

Agreed, but he made a deal with them or something so every single one of his films will be released by Criterion.

And may I add, I loved the June announcements much more than these July ones.

Totally in for The Killers and Moonrise Kingdom and at some point Hiroshima.
Never seen the other 3 but will probably check them out at some point.
Pretty good month but not looking forward to the monthly slew of whining about Mulholland Drive and Wes Anderson bashing.

A hell of a month. Hiroshima mon amour is pretty much my most longed for upgrade, while I'm definitely in for Moonrise Kingdom and The Black Stallion too.

At this stage I'm surprised folk are still complaining. They're inevitable.
