I am looking forward to see if fans of Hausu gets a blu release or not. After that, I am more waiting for August's Nov announcements (Come on New Hollywood Box). But Night of the Hunter for October would be really nice.

Blu or not, Hausu shalt be mine! and that new hollywood boxset could very well be the release of the year.

sidenote, any of you guys keep seen the recent studiocanal postings? seems they are now making every release have a similar, overtly simplistic look. some of the titles they posted, which i was unaware they had, are Mulholland Dr., Delicatessan and The Graduate

here's a link to the packaging/designs (or lack of. zing!) http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/...6377418?ref=ts

Yeah I seen those. I still haven't bought any of those SC releases yet. The only U.S. one I thought about was Contempt, but I decided I'm fine with my Criterion DVD.

Criterion Release of the year will be hard this year:

New Hollywood Box Set (If True) (7 films on blu)
War Trilogy
Von Sternberg Silents (should of had a blu release.)
Dillinger is Dead
Three Films by Pedro Costa
Bigger Than Life

Chaplins? Though you could of got these on dvd before. (Same with my fav blu Vivre sa vie and Night Of The Hunter)

You also got 2 big re-releases in Seven Samurai and Breathless, which shouldn't count in release of the year (maybe re-release of the year?).

I really hope that Antichrist is announced this month. I can't wait to see the cover art they decide to go with on this release.......

I'm Kind of hoping they use the Green/Pink color scheme that is used for the title in the movie..... I think it's pretty bad-ass...... IMO

I could live with Studiocanal's ugly packaging, if they were to give us good quality transfers from good sources. I hope they improve because I like variety.

It's such a tough call with this sale. On one hand, I'd like to pick up the remaining blu's that I am missing, but on the other hand all of the dvd sets are such good deals and are very tempting, especially the eclipse sets. limitless income, wherefore art thou?

I was, I even got one of those MegaZords for my seventh or eighth birthday . It was great then, but now when you look at it you cannot help but wonder why in hell you watched it in the first place. But I have that a lot with stuff I watched when I was young.
I must say, I am surprised learning that you're the same age as me. Figured you were much older (don't blame me ).

I know I can list more, and don't judge me on some of this. I was a kid.

Plus they showed all of the old stuff like Good Times and Justice League cartoons.
Watched Bean and The Black Adder whenever they popped up on PBS...I've got the Bean DVD series...great stuff!

If you watch the segment of Jim Jarmusch's "Coffee and Cigarettes" with Iggy and Tom Waits (sp?), you get a nice snippet of Iggy's personality...never knew his name was David.

It's not. Iggy's real name is James. Even a quick Google search could've told you that.

Speaking of Iggy and Bowie, have any of you guys (especially CG) seen "Velvet Goldmine," which is basically a fictional retelling of their relationship.

Then you'll be happy to know Mtv has signed a deal to bring out 30 new episodes of Beavis and Butthead... in today's paper.

Grand Illusion (DVD)
Wild Strawberries (DVD)

Thanks in advance.

The Seventh Seal (Blu ray)
Repulsion (Blu Ray) - I've watched it once and I feel I was more in it for Deneuve. I don't know if I want to watch it again but to each their own.
Fear and loathing in Las Vegas (DVD) - You can often find this on eBay under $13 at times. So, it's up to you if you want to strike now or take your chances via eBay.
Insomnia (DVD) - I don't own this title.
Down by Law (DVD) - Very good film
Grand Illusion (DVD) - This is now OOP, so you may want to pick it p.
Wild Strawberries (DVD) - I would purchase the Bergman: Four Masterworks for a better value.

The ones I listed are the ones I already own, I listed them as a reference to what type of films I like. Thanks for replying though.

No Japanese films?
Rectify that discrepancy with Yojimbo/Sanjuro on Blu-ray.

If you don't like Japanese movies, then I'd recommend Wings of Desire and The Leopard.

If you can still find any of the OOPs, then I'd suggest getting those before they are unavailable. I believe the OOPs are The Third Man, The Man Who Fell To Earth, and Pierrot Le Fou.
