I totally agree with this. The films in the Lean set are sorta weak with the exception of Brief Encounters (and I'm a Lean fan), but the Tati, Cassavetes and Demy are truly exceptional sets. And, I think, in that order.

For me, the strongest is This Happy Breed, but it may be because i am not a big fan of Brief Encounter.

There's no such thing as a bad Hepburn picture. As to your suggestion: no, thanks.

I liked the Google tribute to Audrey Hepburn a year or so ago.

This is my favorite Hepburn book. The name says it all. It's out of print now but worth the dough:

Not quite sure how I feel about this, but it's somewhere between confused and disturbed.

This Happy Breed is probably my favorite Lean of them all, period. It achieves so much with so little. As if Ozu were to direct Colonel Blimp. I think in many ways nothing, not even something like Lawrence, can compare.

I'm having rather horrific flashbacks to that scene in Game of Thrones.

Speaking of Hepburn (in a non-creepy non-violent way) I would like to see Criterion tackle Wait Until Datk. I have never seen the film but saw the stage play and it was a lot of fun so I'm very curious about the film.

I used to own the DVD of Wait Until Dark before I sold off most of my DVDs in 2013. I figure that it would be just a matter of time before a Blu-ray surfaces.

It's a great film, and it's easy to see why many consider it to be the father of all "jump scare" flicks (Halloween, Friday the 13th, etc.), although it is much more eerie in a low-key way than those sucessors.

Forget it, Jake. It's Warner Brothers.
