So what you're saying is, your favorite Ellen Page movie title is Hard Candy...?

All the ones I listed are B&W and foreign, If that's not your thing you should probably steer clear of the ones I suggested . If you do get into Criterion stuff it may change your views on B&W and foreign films.

Posters have really slacked off on the predictions lately ... must be B&N sale hangover.

My guesses:

HAUSU
ANTICHRIST
FOLLOWING
THE DARJEELING LIMITED or VIDEODROME

WILDCARD:

NIGHT OF THE HUNTER would save the month (Breathless was quick to be announced after newsletter, so this could too.)

Just an fyi, but my local B&N which had a healthy stock of most blu Criterions during the winter sale was literally wiped out today...I didn't have the time to check out the other local stores but it seems like this time around not only are more people aware of the sale but blu has really taken off...

Ah, who cares about predictions from uninformed internet users when Criterion's gonna set us straight tomorrow with the actual list? Just saying.

There is a joke in there about sucking it, but I'm too much of a gentleman to use it...

Bah, waiting until the 15th gets tired and a few posters typically do nail 1-2 releases in advance.

If October is the month for horror releases, I'd include Cronos to the guess list.

Anyone else having problems with B&N?

First one of my movies gets cancelled, but I get an email saying the rest are shipping (yesterday) and now today I get an email saying that all but one of my movies has been delayed......and the one movie that has not been delayed has an expected shipping date of today....so hopefully I wont get an email tomorrow saying that it was delayed.

I find it all very strange how they send me an email telling me it is being shipped then this happens

My whole online B&N experience has been a giant cluster...their site along with the email notification process could really use some simplifying . I did three separate orders to take advantage of the different coupons and used gift cards for two of the three orders and it really caused a lot of confusion. I ended up canceling the last order consisting of two criterion blus and they force you cancel each item of said order versus the actual order. I received an email saying that my order was canceled for both titles but I also got an email saying that one of the titles (the one their site chose to apply to the gift card) had been shipped.

So who the hell knows what I'm getting...I do know it was worth it to get the Sanjuro/Yojimbo boxset for $30+tax shipped with the new online user coupon (which, unlike everyone else, was my first actual online order with them).

I use Amazon 99% of the time. Only use B&N at big sale times, their process is too complex and slow.

Wow... how did you pull that off for that cheap???

Was going to order a few Blu-rays but some have 1-2 weeks instead of 24 hours, so I'll wait another week for the sale and see if the coupon policy changes for members.

Otherwise, went ahead and went after all the box sets I wanted for this sale with the Rosselini War Trilogy, both Bergman Criterion box sets, Berlin Alexanderplatz, Paul Robeson, Eclipse Samuel Fuller, Eclipse Postwar Kurosawa, Eclipse Chantal Akerman and for singles: Summertime, Make Way for Tomorrow, The Lower Depths and one Blu - Everlasting Moments.

Anyone purchase the Early Bergman, Aki Kaurismaki and George Bernard Shaw Eclipse Series sets? I'm thinking of getting those....
