That would make me happy.
Please let this finally happen. Hopefully, the new year's cartoon alluded to this film. Some debated it didn't.

Children of Men. I've already heard murmurs. One legit rumor and the Criterion fanbase will 'splode.

The Before Trilogy as well. We know it's coming, but no idea when.

I was just reviewing the 2014 New Years drawing and have a question. All the angels left playing in the water while one flies away ... what did that turn out to be? I kept hoping it was Lubitsch's Heaven Can Wait ...

Would love both of these, but that would be the biggest time investment month in the history of Criterion.

Today, I took a day of leave from my real job to work for 13 hours as an extra on the set of a major studio production for an eagerly-awaited film. Confidentiality prevents me from revealing more, but this was a day that I will remember for the rest of my life.

This was my second go as a background extra, since I took a day off last year to work on the set of another movie that was also filmed in my neck of the woods. I intended last year's experience to be a one-time-only bucket list sort of thing, but I loved being on a film set with major actors and seeing a big production, so I jumped at the chance to participated in today's shooting, which is part of an even bigger production.

If any of you get a chance to work as extras for movie productions in your area, then take advantage of it. It's a really cool thing to do if you have any interest in seeing a filming up close and personal.

Steering this big ship back into Criterion waters, I want to see a Friday announcement for...

In a Lonely Place
Carnival of Souls
Brute Force
The Naked City
Thieves' Highway
Night and the City
Le Samouraï

I'll spill the beans when the two films that I worked are released, and tell y'all to look for a split-second sighting on the corner of the screen or something of the sort. Today's experience on the set of a huge production was really something else.

I'm thinking Captain America 3! I have relatives in Georgia who said it was filming there recently. I would love to do that someday too.

Just did a quick search and it seems one can be full time extra there , there are a lot of films and series being filmed currently.

And yes Captain America 3 seems to be the one with highest profile.

I met a lot of cool fellow extras on the set who do this for a living by working on multiple sets every week, and they were all talking about several of the films on the above list. Many of them did not even know anything about today's film or about the main actors, and it was just another random day on the job for them.

Since I have Fridays off with my new job transfer from a few months ago, I'm going to start taking a closer look at opportunities specifically being offered on that day of the week. This is easier said than done, of course, since production schedules are constantly changing, and because extra assignments can be cancelled mere hours from the start of a projected date due to unforeseen circumstances (a main actor being sick, unexpected weather conditions, etc.). I'd like to do it more often, though.

When I was an extra last year, I used the paycheck from that workday to buy the Zatoichi: The Blind Swordsman Blu-ray set. (See...this is Criterion-related.)
