I've had the "Early Bergman" set for quite a while, kndy, but have yet to pick up the other two listed. They're both on my list, though. I'm an Eclipse wh*re, though, and I just don't think you can go wrong with any of the sets for the value... especially at these sale prices. I picked up the Rossellini, Chantal Akerman, and "Fallen Women" set yesterday.

Now that is a nice deal CC. I forgive you for bragging about that purchase. Thankfully, my 5 from B&N arrived UPS today without a hitch. I also attached the war trilogy to the 2 pre-orders for next week. I assume no problems with that either. I will say, The Leopards case looks very similar to all the other releases. I remember someone saying it was dvd sized, which it is not. It is the same slipcase height as Che, the Y&J 2 pack and monterey pop, so no worries about it looking "out of place"..

I watched Antichrist a few weeks ago, when it aired on IFC, I believe it was. I think it will be the first Criterion blu release that I will have to pass on. It just didn't do anything for me. Everything else released, or announced, I've been happy with.

White Dog (DVD)
M (Blu-Ray)
Bottle Rocket (Blu-Ray)

I've seen it once and was very disappointed. Just not a very good movie.

Wasn't it all ready announced? It only cost me $15 and I haven't seen it in a while so I figured I'll buy it but I'm still getting the Blu Ray when it comes out.

its worth it just for that awesome beta tape case which the blu-ray probably wont have! seriously the coolest DVD package i own.

"Some clues regarding tomorrows Criterion new release announcement: 3 of the titles were once on Criterion laserdisc, 2 didn't make it to DVD"

Take it with a grain of salt, but sometimes these guys are on point. Commence speculation.

I don't care to speculate, but getting two non-DVD OOP Criteerions back is awesome. Perhaps it's The Night of The Hunter!

Whether they're $3 DVDs from Big Lots, or Criterion discs that I know won't be seeing a blu-ray release anytime, soon - if I can still watch them and enjoy them, I'm all for it.

Hey CG, hopefully B&N will do it again in November. I want to get more but this time I'm going to have to limit myself. Mainly because I still have so much to watch from the last sale and our Hollywood Video is now at 80% off...and waiting for one last drop (next week) before I go after some of the foreign film titles.
