(seems the only release available in DVD is from Spain) they desperately need more silent films in my opinion.
The Wind is an absolutely phenomenal film, and Lilian Gish gives a tour-de-force performance in it. Apparently, it was not an easy film to make. Here's a link to the introduction Miss Gish recorded for the film's VHS and LaserDisc release:

I see that the film itself is available on YouTube ...? It deserves the Criterion treatment, but as jayembee sagely pointed out, that doesn't seem likely. You really should see it ... The Wind and King Vidor's The Crowd are often said to be the apex of American silent film and both remain so beautiful and moving that I have never been able to refute the point.

It looks odd for sure, though I am definitely interested in checking it out. I wouldn't think Criterion would release it, but as I posted on the previous page, there is some evidence to suggest it's happening.

Jellyfish Eyes is a confusing release, and I could see a backlash like Tiny Furniture, but that phantom page is pretty convincing. It could be announced tomorrow.

My humble wish list:
Cronenberg’s Crash and Dead Ringers

I bought the German Lynch set. It’s good enough for me so I removed Mulholland Drive from my list.

So...has anyone actually seen Jellyfish Eyes?

"Backlash" against Criterion for releasing a film you don't like - let alone one you haven't seen - is indefensibly absurd.

Jellyfish Eyes is certainly coming from Criterion. There are too many signs pointing to them releasing it.

I haven't seen the film, so I can't speak to its quality, but the film's director, Takashi Murakami, is a big deal in the art world. So it may be a case of wanting to work with the director, regardless of the quality of the film.

Well I've made my opinions on this release clear..... not gong to waste any more time on it...

Oh well.. here's hoping we get some decent films announced..

Hell, they'd be better off releasing Digimon, at least that has originality on its side...

Also, never understood the hate for Tiny Furniture, I think its a great little film.

I watched the trailer, and my first thought was, "Is this a CGI/live action Pokémon or Digimon film?" It does look ridiculous, but it also looks like something I would have watched in college while "experimenting" with certain fungi.

It would be freaking awesome if Criterion released King Vidor's The Crowd.

Criterion Digimon. Damn, that's the dream. Or better yet, Pokemon: The First Movie

Curiosity got the better of me and I checked out the trailer for Jellyfish Eyes. While not my cup of tea, I do see it as a unique cinematic vision, and certainly no less deserving of Criterion love than, say, any random Wes Anderson recycling.

Yeah, aside from both being indie films concerning a post-graduate-like crisis, they couldn't be any different.

Lena Dunham...
