Yes. Lately, it's been during that window of time between when I make my home commute after work and when I get back from the gym, so I may not see anything until after 7:00 PM.

No worries, though. I might be looking at buying a house later this summer or early this fall, so a part of me hopes that everything in today's announcement completely sucks.

Isn't it best to make such an announcement mid day, so its technically "on hours" everywhere in the country? Just asking
I remember sometime back, maybe a few years ago, they would sometimes announce at around 1 to 3 PM.

Currently, though, you're lucky if you get anything by 5, and they usually end up being around 7.

Was hoping since they delayed Friday without warning that it would be early today, and that's not the case, so I'm holding out that this is one of those amazing months where so many said releases get announced, say, 3 at the least.

The more subtitled films the better. Especially if they're brand new to disc. Hope we get a lot of those this time.

(Edit: Curses, foiled again. Maybe next month I'll write just the opposite, maybe that will work.)

Same here with the house thing. Looking as we speak. So I can feel where you're coming from there.

In the end, it's better to have your wallet be happy and you cry if closing on a house does indeed happen.

In the last year or so the announcement usually goes up around 5-7pm Eastern / 2-4pm Pacific. And usually any typos don't get fixed until the next business day, which has made myself and others theorize that it's the last job of one of the interns before they clock out that day. (For example, the front page initially saying "April titles announced!" when it was the March titles...)

People loose their minds when announcements are late.

They've already announced a September title, so cut them a little slack.

Well if those (and Straw Dogs) are now controlled by MGM - they are probably easy to license since MGM seems to give out their catalog to any and all comers at this point. All Criterion would likely have to do... is ask.

If Criterion were to start double dipping on MGM titles (I'm only aware of a whole bunch of dupliate releases of Universal titles... and the one Fox title in Mad Mad World) - there are many more essential MGM titles that need fixing bad. If there were one MGM title I would choose Criterion to "fix" a prior blu-ray sin, it would be The Graduate. One of the more essential films of all time (IMO)... very poor blu-ray.

Straw Dogs is an ABC Pictures owned title. That library is notoriously shifty when it comes to distributors. Last I heard Paramount now has it, I think?
