The pricing glitch was definitely on blu rays. I ordered a ton of them. Also ordered a couple criterion dvds after the blu ray pricing was seemingly corrected before the dvd pricing did.

So,you prefer having DVDs for cheaper than let's say waiting for B&N sales on the Blurays?
I wouldn't.
I would like to have the best quality of the movies I'm interested in.

Normally I obviously prefer the blu ray. But when the criterion dvds were being priced at $2.23 for Insomnia and $2.38 for Eraserhead I had to go for it. The blu ray discs for these movies had already jumped back to $30ish by that point.

I see.
Well, my point was that i wouldn't get a DVD even for free, if there was a Bluray of it (with much better quality of course).

I'd be willing to bet that if I sat you down in front of my television and had you watch a sampling of La Notte and Foreign Correspondent, you wouldn't know if you were watching a DVD or a Blu-ray.

also, which disc contains a better presentation? Sony's DVD of Picnic (I realize that many probably haven't seen it) or Universal's Blu-ray of Marnie? Studio Canal's Blu-ray of Contempt or Criterion's DVD of Made in U.S.A.?

suit yourself, but "i wouldn't get a DVD even for free" is a kind of blind faith mentality.

that's why i said.. hmm. well i should have put it better:
i'm interested in the bluray first when it has better quality than the DVD.
(for example i prefer the disney early DVDs than the Blurays of animation classics because the latter have been "restored" to death and they aren't films anymore!

It would technically classify as a profit I guess.

I used to say just flip them on eBay for a profit but the DVD re-sell market isn't strong unless it's OOP.

so, if they ship now some orders, they could still cancel the others that will be shipping in a month or so? that wouldn't be fair..
and I would like to know if my items will ship or not because I'd like to use the B&N sale if they don't.

They could do anything that they wanted to. Granted, their customer service reputation is potentially sitting on a powder keg with this one. So, it is unlikely that they will screw people in such a way.

The only one I really care deeply about hasn't changed from "Not Yet Shipped."

By the way, I ordered these.

Of these, only The Man who knew too much is still being sold by amazon (at regular price of course).
The others are not.

Yes, indeed it would be unfair if they send half the orders and the others not!
It would be fair if they send ALL, or cancel ALL!

but if they send half the orders, their decision to not send the remaining half would not be on a whim - it would be because they caught their mistake. so the ones who have their orders fulfilled are "lucky" while the others should say, "oh, well.. gave it a shot." has nothing to do with being "fair."
