By the way, I'm kind of jealous of all you guys. Every month you get to rush down to the Christmas tree and see what Santa brought you! My wish list is filled with things that would never, ever merit CC attention. I think the only item I have that I could hope for is "The Unbearable Lightness of Being".

So be happy that CC loves you!

Yes, it seems mine is too.
I would love to see just once a Criterion announcement with films I would love mostly!

Not new to Criterion but quite new to discussions about rights to release/distribute. Would love to see The Long Good Friday and Mona Lisa on Criterion BD. What's the deal with rights held by Arrow in the UK? The review for TLGF is stellar snd I don't mind importing, but any chance at all Criterion could get these back?

If you are multi region Eureka! MoC has The Gospel... Although I would never say no to more Pasolini in Criterion Collection!

Would be cool if Criterion released it with the colourised version + Back and White

The Decalogue!
The Graduate!
In Cold Blood!

I don't recall any of these being speculated, but some of the others I assumed were coming at some point (Welles).

Although it's not in my most immediate wanted titles, His Girl Firday would make me happy!
And as a Greek, I would be interested in the Angelopoulos too.
I think it's really embarassing that there isn't any single Angelopoulos title in the Criterion collection so as Greece to at least have a representation.

Everyone who saw it went into a depressive semi-coma. Man, that is one depressing film. OTOH, there wasn't a lot of good stuff going on in Romania in the 80s in general.

My wishes for the announcements are:

Mulholland Drive (of course; but then again I've almost given up hope)
Dogville (I adore this movie, and the CC could really do a release justice)
The New World (although the fact that I already bought the non-CC version a couple of months ago would be sorta annoying)
Before Trilogy
Gilda (more Rita is always a good thing!)

Will any of these happen? Probably not.

The Decalogue was pretty much confirmed at that talk recently, but nice to see they have already started work on it

Criterion will probably get them back and use Arrow's restoration like they did for Time Bandits. But the Arrow release will be very very hard to beat.

The Graduate and In Cold Blood already have blu-ray releases. Does In Cold Blood really deserve a spine? A Safe Place aside, In Cold Blood is merely a 'good' film in my estimation. With a better director and screen play it could have been much better. The biggest mistake was not spending enough time on small time life which made the murders so shocking.

I'm not a huge fan of Richard Brooks. He misfired on Lord Jim, too.
