I'm fine with the September releases, but as we were talking a few pages ago, I buy everything and usually enjoy it. There's been a lot of hate about yesterday, here and elsewhere, and I agree that there is no oomph. I wonder if the "kinks" from Monday were because they had to pull a title (maybe one with a blue key from a notoriously ornery director?) and used one of of the back burner titles as a replacement. Maybe something that has been on Hulu for a year.

That was my original thinking too, but would there really be such a last minute hitch?

Exactly. I'll never claim to be a cineaste or film expert, but after following Criterion since the 90s and following their Blu-ray releases in recent years, I've become much more of an enthusiast. They've opened up to me Directors I wasn't familiar with, such as the before mentioned Keislowsi and look forward to any future release by him.

Well if it was Lynch's film that was the hitch and removed, maybe they accidentally uncensored a certain scene and they missed it in the 'Director Approved' stages :P

I believe it will be in July, based on what I heard from other members it seems the promotional material for the Criterion sale has arrived at B&N.

If you would like to participate in a pre-sale, I believe Throne of Blood is off for a good 50% over at Amazon (and a couple of other titles). Just ordered it

Yeah. I'd love if they would be able to release Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Kairo/Pulse as well.

YES more Asian horror please! (I love how awful english remakes are!).

Dark Water, Audition, Ghost Game, Ringu, Noroi the Curse, Grudge, A Tale of Two Sisters, Whispering Corridor films.

All the above are worthy! A Tale of Two Sister has to be one of the best, it has so much emotion and is really powerful.

Also Confessions is a great film too!

A Tale of Two Sisters has a really bad trailer lol (see shouldn't judge a film by a trailer... I will try Jellyfish Eyes gosh... lol)

Pleasantly surprised that A Room With A View is getting a BD release. Does that mean Criterion and Merchant-Ivory have worked out their issues?

Definitely. I had to import Confessions & A Tale of Two Sisters BDs, I just couldn't wait for the US release.

It has to be Otis for me, although if The Beach Boys had actually completed and released Smile and headlined the show with songs from that and Pet Sounds like was originally planned... that would have made for an even more amazing concert. But as it is, I have to go with Otis.

I would love for them (or anybody, really) to release Kim Ki-duk's 3-Iron and Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring. I don't think either has been released on blu-ray outside of South Korea.
